Post your dream mecha anime/manga/game

My idea.

In the mid 26th century, mankind is reaching the stars. A massive terraforming project has transformed Mars and Venus into Earthlike garden worlds. However, as the terraforming programs reaches fruition, a minor trade dispute between the Great Corporations escalates into a full-scale war.

After more than a decade of continuous conflict, the Earth, already strained by a ballooning population, has been completely butt-fucked ecologically by nuclear and chemical weapons. Most the planet is a poisonous, scorched desert and most of the population live in Judge-Dredd esque Mega Cities.

The mecha in this setting are Heavy Gear-esque rollerbladers with a crude AI that is capable of acting independent of the pilot and following simple instructions.

The MC is a mid-twenties, unemployed man who is now saddled with paying for the medical expenses of his mother who is now dying of residual fallout cancer. So he signs on with one of the megacorporate PMCs since they offer a guaranteed spot on an off-world transport to any solider who completes his term of service satisfactorily.

The combat is grueling and harsh. Pretty much all of the characters we are introduced to during his Boot Camp arc die horribly in the first engagement. Then suddenly, something bizzare happens.

His unit stops receiving orders. After waiting for days, with supplies running low, the disobey orders and head out into the wastes. Soon they meet a unit of the enemy. After a tense stand off, the enemy squad leader agrees to meet with the MC.

Turns out they're in the same boat. The Megacorps pulled up stakes and left. Pilfering anything of value and fucking off to Mars of Venus with only the officers or those civilians deemed useful.

The common soldiers, and the civilians still on Earth are condemned to a slow, horrible death on a dying planet.

So basically "Armored Core: the Animu"

Basically if the creators of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo did a longer series, about cybernetic pirates riding hoverships around the post-apocalyptic Arizona desert, with like a dozen factions and Dune or ASOIAF level political intrigue.

Every single idea posted/to be posted but with sexy traps as MC or sidekicks.

I'd love to see a fantasy mecha series set in a pastiche Wuxia setting. Something like Dunbine meets Fist of the North Star, with wandering warriors in their great battle suits adventuring, training, and upholding the cause of justice.

>sexy traps

But that's half the ideas this thread'll get. And the other half is "edge! More edge! Also adult protagonists and muh gritty realism plz"
>>
Energy miners on Jupiter wearing sealed powersuits and living on submarine-like zeppelins combing the storms for helium-3 end up getting caught in the middle of an environmental war on Earth. Their supplies cut off, they struggle to live in the wasteland of the Jupiter system, while being haunted by conflicts carried by immigrants from Earth. And in the distant cloudbanks, rumors swirl of life on the planet below.

Just please have some actually decent designs.

Say what you will about the lore of 40k, the art style is absolutely gorgeous, especially for the 'Nids.

The BETA's design is so stupid looking, it literally ruined Muv-Luv for me, which makes me sad because the TSFs are actually rather awesome looking.

Highschool girl is called to her family shrine and made to pilot an elegant super robot with nature or Shinto-themed attacks. She must fight demons coming out of volcanoes. Lots of fanservice.

I really can't think of anything else to add to the premise. Maybe I can make it into an OG unit when the SRWE level editor comes out?

Something like fafner, sidonia, or muv luv except darker. Humans are wrong, alien life is justified, there is no hope for survival, etc. I can't take these settings seriously because you just know that the humans are the good guys (mostly) and will win in the end, even if they suffer a lot and are heavily criticized for their in fighting and selfishness.

This premise seemed to interest some anons but I have no plot idea so far:

>post-apocalyptic mecha series
>takes place in a continent-spanning junkyard
>gritty, bleak and brutal as fuck
>no fun, no cute shit, no heroism, and most importantly no girls allowed
>the MC is a rivethead who never smiles and eats rats
>all mechs are crudely repaired/customized and barely work anymore
>they have a very stern, harsh industrial design, no ceramics, no glossy plastic, no fancy paintjobs, no sleek aerodynamic hulls, no futuristic polygon shit, no holographic displays or laser bullshit. Just riveted steel, cables, pistons and rust.
>lots of exploration, lots of suspense, lots of brutal fights and lots of gore
>8 episodes, high-quality early 90s realistic OVA style
>OP & BGM by Chu Ishikawa & Der Eisenrost.

My idea is basically Full Metal Panic recycled in the 1950s, where the Second World War is still going on because Nazi Germany mysteriously acquired technology from the future, and used it on the Allied Forces during Operation Overlord, resulting in them resuming their war with the Soviet Union, allowing them to conquer the lands west of the Urals.

I have all sorts of decent ideas banging around in my head, like a more episodic show of policework featuring a mixture of Patlabor style robots and what basically amount to powered armor for elementals, and that one idea I actually bothered to save my plan on that was about a group of kids being forced to pilot a giant robot to fight horrible monsters and eventually another giant robot exactly like theirs except much more powerful with the gimmick that it had a super hyper mode which would kill the pilot - but every time that happened, the robot would get stronger overall and the super mode would get even more absurd - which was all well and good until I learned of Bokurano...

Honestly, though? Just give me a series where the MCs use their giant robot to beat up things, and as long as it is not really, REALLY shit, I will most likely be content.

When I meant "mysteriously acquired technology from the future," they got it from a time traveler. I also based the idea on the season finale of Justice League Season 1 "The Savage Time."
>>
>in the distant future, advances in technology allow for the birth of children without sexual intercourse or a woman's womb
>no longer in need of each other, the irrevocable differences between men and women lead to conflict and eventually war
>when the dust settles, the Earth is split between two warring nations: the a nation of men and a nation of women
>one day the women's side roll out their devastating new weapon: giant humanoid robots called Venus Gear
>the men's side is able to capture one of these and quickly begins work on creating their own versions
>however there's one problem - the machines can only be piloted by women
>in order to overcome this, a team of the most convincing traps ever is assembled to pilot these new weapons
>these traps are feminine enough to trick the machines computer into accepting them as pilots and fly them into battle
>one of the traps (our hero) falls in love with the enemy ace pilot, an older woman
>together they will defy their orders and try to unite men and women once more
>>

During the 1980s, the development of HARMs(Heavy Armored Reflex Mobilizer) revolutionized warfare forever, rendering MBTs obsolete given how they have the firepower of a tank while having the flexibility and maneuverability of an infantry(Think the KFs from Code Geass).

With both sides of the Capitalist-Communist divide dying to try out their new mechs, they were deployed to proxy nations with Egypt being backed by the Soviet Union and Israel being backed by the US.

MC is a former tank driver of the IDF whose unit(2nd Armored Brigade) got decimated in an Egyptian invasion which results in the Gaza Strip and Southern regions of Israel being under Egyptian control.

Fortunately for the IDF, US military advisers stepped in and provided training and new weaponry for the IDF. MC alongside several survivors of the 2nd Armored Brigade are chosen to be the first pilots for the newly made HARMs supplied, being part of the Experimental 103rd Division which will be pivotal in defending Israel against its Russian backed neighbors.

While HARMs are the main mech of the series, it would not work alone. It will often be accompanied by light vehicles and infantry escorts(this would not be the case in the first few episodes). Small arms such as assault rifles are ineffective against HARMs in general though a well placed shot can cripple its capabilities, rifle grenades can easily give a mobility kill and rocket launchers can blow it up with a single hit. This would be shown when the Egyptian forces adapt to the IDF HARMs.prompting the 103rd Division to shift from being a primarily HARM based unit to a combined arms one consisting of infantry, artillery and light vehicles to compensate.

Thousands of years ago, an alien civilization called the Shiniyatsu touched down on Earth, in the South Pacific. The Rapa Nui people of Easter Island built giant mechanical golems known as the Moai to fight them off. The remaining Moai were dedicated as monuments to the war.

In the present day, a distant descendant of the Rapa Nui, a passionate young Japanese man by the name of Daigo Yamamoto, finds himself in the middle of the Shiniyatsu's main fleet, their entire forces brought to bear in a quest of intergalactic and intergenerational revenge. Fortunately for him, he receives a call from a mystic robot, Goraizer. He immediately travels to Easter Island and meets his robot, his destiny. Climbing aboard, he finds he immediately knows the controls through the residual memories of his ancestors and uses Goraizer's ultimate weapon, the Radiant Halberd, to route the immediate invaders. Just afterwards, however, Goraizer breaks down, its age finally catching up to it. One of the bystanders of the attack, an older gentleman, introduces himself as Professor Okari, a mechanical engineer who had been trying to find the secret of the Moai. They bring Goraizer to the Okari research institute, where they outfit it with parts from the cyber-punk era they live in, upgrading it to the triple-changing Goraizer 3.

As Earth's last defense, Daigo fights with Goraizer 3 against the giant Shiniyatsu Phantom Warriors, but he makes several shocking discoveries. These Shiniyatsu are the exact same Shiniyatsu as those that invaded thousands of years ago, and what's more, they're holding Daigo's ancestor as hostages? Will the future be erased? Only one man can prevent it! Fight, Daigo Yamamoto! Fight, Goraizer 3!

In the future the Solar System has been ravaged by an intense war. Technological progression has stagnated for decades due to the loss of infrastructure, resources and records. A faction hoping to reunify the solar system and crush the upstart empires recruits a young engineer to help them start production on a new series of mechs based on those from the great war. A surprise attack by alien forces, themselves battered and reduced to hit-and-run tactics, forces totallynotDanielJackson into the cockpit of a highly advanced and rather creepy looking prototype mech that transforms into a spaceplane shaped somewhat like a B-2. This currently unnamed faction is then forced to start their campaign of reunification while simultaneously fighting sporadic attacks by the aliens.

[This is the year 2245. The Golden Century has passed, and with it passed the boundless exploration of the stars, the near-infinite prosperity of cosmic dust, and the large-scale asteroid hunting that defined the 22nd century. Humanity has depleted the asteroid belts and now looks outside of our solar system for further expansion.

On the ground the people live in modest, but comfortable homes, unaware of the bitter wars fought by interplanetary corporations. The heavy mechanized pressure suits used for asteroid mining operations are re-purposed into combat service: brain-pattern connection grid gave way to remote operation and eventually to fully automated AI control. Giant, mechanized combat has become the norm for resolving territorial conflicts. And then it happened.

It was thought to be a large meteor entering our solar system, with no cause for worry or concern. It turned out to be a thinking entity, far greater in size than even the mightiest of battleships, and far more dangerous than our own meager devices. It is proof of extraterrestrial life, and it is destroying and assimilating everything in its path. Only Mars and Earth remain, beaten back and scattered. Our creations, the artificial intelligence systems tasked with fighting our wars now run amok in open rebellion against their former masters.

This is our world. This is the year 2245. You are chosen to defend what remains of mankind--you are chosen to fight and give your life in ending this threat. You are all that stands in the way of certain doom. In the fires of Jupiter, in the crucible that is our solar system, you must prevail.]

MC's name is drawn from a lottery to bolster the military ranks of the crumbling Mars government using an older mechanized pressure suit. The first episode is the attack on Mars itself, where the desperate line of defense is completely annihilated by the encroaching enemy. The next episode is a flashback.

Not much a story but setting is a ancient south/central american and pacific cultures inspired fantasy world with geography same as real world. Humanity is under constant threat by demons or something. Humans are however protected by giant mecha golems controlled by chosen ones. The mecha reside within volcanoes after which they are named. The mecha gods are huge, at least a kilometer tall. Main settlements are built around these volcanoes. Each generation a contest is arranged to choose a new chosen one. The final challenge is to jump into the volcano and if chosen by the mecha god, he/she will emerge with it. The mecha are basically manifestations of the power of volcanoes.

tldr, really giant magitech mecha named after volcanoes like Krakatau, Vesuvius, Pinatubo, Fuji and so on because they have cool names.

Yes. It's not meant to be hard science fiction, and is not meant to be taken literally. The general premise is that increasing scarcity of mineral-rich, near asteroid resources is driving down profits, and may not be sustainable in the future. Hence the need for expansion and setting up additional colonies, and humanity is yet to achieve interstellar travel capabilities. It's supposed to make some sense at face value without discussing the logistics of actual asteroid mining and the costs thereof.

All of that doesn't sound nearly as exciting as "depleted asteroid belts." The same way that "boundless exploration of the stars" sounds more exciting than an organized colonization effort of all habitable space within our solar system.

Fuck it, may as well spell this shit out and clarify it.

The old government that ruled the solar system was a nominal democracy. Their expansion into space and colonization of the planets was driven mostly by mercantile interest. Politicians and executives traded favors for favors. The line between governments and corporations blurred. The Jovians had enough and declared independence. The Saturnites and many other colonies followed. Terrans, Martians, and Lunarians remained loyal to the plutocracy and set out to crush the rebels.

The first mechs saw service in this war. They were fugly, boxy things which seemed advanced a the time but in hindsight were pretty crappy. Loyalist mechs were generally humanoid with two arms, two legs, and a head with cameras. Rebel mechs looked more like cephalopods.

WMDs were tossed around like candy. Nukes which would be devastating by modern standards were low-tier at this time. Terraforming devices were converted into zyklon b dispensers. Asteroids were bolted to powerful fusion engines (or sometimes crude warp drives) and hurled at planets.

Arguably, the rebels won. There were no surrenders, no treaties, not even any ceasefires. Attacks just stopped when both sides no longer had anything to defend.

A 50 episode Armored Core anime based on the 3rd-4th gen games (AC3-ACLR).
The whole series is set in the underground city (Layered) and it looks like pic related, minus the flying cars.
The story is an alternate continuity from the games with a similar, but more detailed setting and the same 3 corporations (Crest, Mirage and Kisaragi).
There are 4 main characters:
>An 18 year old rookie MT pilot who inherited a shitload of money from his father, who he never met. He uses some of his fortune to buy an AC and join Raven's Nest. He is paired with a strict, harsh operator/trainer voiced by Atsuko Tanaka (basically Serene Haze from For Answer). He is lazy and underachieving, but is gradually disciplined by his operator.
>a 23 year old female Raven, rank 47 (out of 50) in the Arena. After undergoing Human Plus surgery, she is forced to claw her way to the top of the Arena and defeat the legendary Nine Ball to absolve her massive debts. Hot-blooded, impatient, and an alcoholic.
>a 45 year old veteran Raven, rank 5 in the Arena. Voiced by Norio Wakamoto. During a mission, he uncovers some rather disturbing secrets regarding Crest Industries, and is forced to go on the run.
>a regular 15 year old girl, so we can have slice-of-life scenes in a cyberpunk anime. Her father is divorced and works long hours for minimum wage in a Mirage office. She is an amateur photographer and fascinated with ACs.

The story switches perspectives between these three, and they are all given roughly equal screentime.

Most of the survivors of this war either lived underground or in space stations. They turned to isolationism while occasionally maintaining communications with each other. Barbarian warlords carved up the Earth and Mars while the remnants of the old government tried to rebuild.

The Jovians didn't have it any better. Initially they installed a republic which was too weak to maintain order and a communist oligarchy took its place. Purges of the old government and its supporters ensued. Industry and agriculture were nationalized. Capitalism and the old plutocracy which supported became a bogeyman to keep the people together.

The civilized settlements of the inner solar system struggled under a terrible economy and constant war with barbarians. The people began to see the old ways as weak and inefficient. Thus the isolated colonies turned to fascism. Under this brutally efficient regime technological progress spiked and the colonies took the fight to the barbarians.

By this point, the barbarians had actually regressed; They were at Mad Max levels of technology while the new order was almost at Star Wars levels. You can guess how that war went down.

The year is After Empire 115, after the sudden, unexplained closure of Earth's hyperspace gates, the remnants of the old Earth Empire are fought over by two superpowers: League Proxima and the Cygnus Republic. Stuck in the middle are the Frontier Alliance worlds, who had joined the Cygnus Republic in breaking away from League Proxima, but had not joined the republic. The war between Cygnus and Proxima never formally ended, devolving into a cold war fought by proxy via mercenary forces employed by military contractors.

The story begins on New Eden, an Earth-like planet orbiting Tau Ceti, and considered the crown jewel of the Frontier worlds. A strange mech crashes in the woods near the home of our protagonist, Nathan Greenwood. Assuming it to be a failed prototype; he shows it to a classmate, Sarah Gregor, an mech otaku and budding engineer. A few days later, some Cygnus mechs shoot down a Proxima mech near our protagonists' school. When the Proxima pilot seeks refuge inside the school, the Cygnus pilots open fire. Angered by the blatant disregard for the lives of the students and faculty of the school, but powerless to do anything about it, Nathan flees. He ends up at the junkyard owned by Sarah's family, where he discovers to his surprise that Sarah has repaired the crashed mech he discovered earlier, which now bears a striking resemblence to the suits of armor worn by the ancient knights of Earth. Without thinking, he jumps into the cockpit and flies the mech back to his school to confront the Cynus mercenaries. Surprised by the sudden appearance of an unknown mech (and somewhat dumbfounded by the ramblings about justice being broadcasted by its pilot), the mercs are unable to counter Nathan's raw fury and are routed.

Thus begins the legend of the Mech Knight. Is this the hero of justice that the Frontier has been waiting for? Or is this the spark that will reignite the flames of war? Hear the voices calling out for justice! Fight, Mech Knight!

I had a half-baked idea a while ago about a mecha type of story taking place on a gigantic planet that consisted almost entirely of water, with a lot of seafaring action going on. The main plot would be that a huge alliance of all the pirates on the world had overthrown the local government, and driven the planet's militia navy into hiding.

The main characters would be a former militia captain who loses the crew to his/her ship, and attempts to cheat at gambling to drum up money for a crew and repairs, but ends up betting the ship and losing the ship to a loser gambler who cheated better. The gambler would become the Captain, and employ the former captain as his first mate, but he'd get more than he bargained for when he would have to deal with the pirates who would be trying to stamp out what remained of the militia navy, including his new ship.

I was thinking planes would be the primary vehicle, but there would be hovering Dom-like mecha that would show up later.

Surely you know the ending for Zeta, Zambot, Daitarn, or Baldios, right?
>>
>>13609106

>ending of Zeta, Zambot

Even those didn't tout the thoroughly stupid ideas of 'human life is meaningless and there's no hope for survival', because for all the shit the characters went through in Zeta and all the shit the characters were given in Zambot, not absolutely everybody died, even moreso for the former, and the invaders were murderous psychopaths in the latter, and even though it was probably a bittersweet point more than anything else or some darkly humorous juxtaposition, humans cheered Kappei at the end of Zambot and praised him as a hero proving that humans are not just raging assholes.

Baldios' ending was also solely a product of the show being cut off before another planned season, and the movie was made to 'fix' it. Can't really speak for Daitarn, though.

So, no, we don't always have to cut ourselves on edges to be entertained.

Any or all of these concepts:

A Gundam series with Votoms-scaled mechs.

A Gundam series whose Newtype equivalents are "skinjob"-type androids or close to it. The Alaya-Vijnana system is really neat and a more in-depth exploration of that concept would be a welcome change of pace.

A Gundam series set in the 90s/2000s, where Soviet mech research leaked and widely proliferated after the Union's dissolution. Features historical conflicts of the era but with gendums.

A war is going on between two major powers, a large crumbling empire and a small, but resource-rich group. Of course this conflict is being fought with giant robots. In the disputed territory between them, two teenagers (MC and his childhood friend (female)) are living on a remote asteroid mining colony. They're the only young people on the colony (they're orphans who were found on a damaged ship drifting nearby when they were little kids) and the ore has long since been mined out. With no resources, and no strategic value they've been protected from the large conflict going on around them.

A heavily-damaged battleship from the large empire shows up looking to repair and resupply. It's carrying a variety of prototype battlesuits and battle-hardened soldiers, and they're being closely pursued by thee enemy. Predictably, they're attacked and the MC jumps into the colony's last operational construction mech to defend them from the attackers. After the battle the people there force the captain of the ship to take them along as they have no future at the dying colony, and the MC insists he be allowed to bring along the construction suit.

Unfortunately, after getting on the ship they discover, the giant piles of prototype weapons are all junk and the pilots and crew were placed on the ship because they were unruly and hard to work with. The battlesuits are all failed prototypes and rejected proof-of-concept designs that were deemed unsuitable for mass production. This includes:
>>
>>13610143
>Transforming suit
Turns from a starfighter to a robot! Unfortuantely, it's transformation is so long and it's so vulnerable that it spends the entire series in fighter form.

>Multipurpose suit
Designed to mount any number of high perfomance equiment sets to allow it to operate in any environment and be outfitted for any situation! Only the undersea gear was actually constructed.

>Super-customized battlesuit
Bearing the mark of an ace pilot, the man known as The Golden Tiger is legendary, and his hyper-customized golden suit is feared by all. Unfortunately, Golden Tiger was a veteran of the last war. He's pushing 60 now and his suit was outdated decades ago (and he won't use anything else).

>High-performance suit
Amazing power, speed and manuverability, it's power is generated by an experiemental reactor, which had unforseen issues in the field. In anything above the lowest power settings it must be kept constantly in motion and basically flown like a maniac or it will overheat. There are rumors that every other unit produced destabilized and blew up, so everyone's afraid to pilot it. The MC's friend ends up piloting it and discoveres a natuaral talent for battle going completely berserk when she gets into the cockpit (Think Yazan or Dilandau from Escaflowne).

>MC's construction suit
A practically ancient machine, it was owned by the mining colony since it's founding. It's reliable, bulky, and ludicrously, physically strong desite not being designed for combat. Its secret is that, unlike every other mech, it was actually designed for use in gravity and has only been tuned for space use. Despite it being one-of-a-kind, MC manages to repair and upgrade it by collecting parts from wrecked enemies or tearing them limb from limb with the suit's monstrous strength. It eventually becomes a frankenstein of various bits and weapons the MC tacks onto it in his spare time.
>>
>>13610148
>tl;dr
Gundam, if White Base had the crew of the Soyokaze from Captain Tylor, and the only mobile suits on board were the junkiest, impractical designs to roll off a Zeon assembly line.

A Tech western
Visually would be like Wild guns, that clearly they're super advanced but decided to dress everything up in western cosplay and on an alien planet just cause. The MC would be a government Marshall bringing law to a lawless land, doing all the western tropes, stopping the hover train robbery, making peace with the indigenous aliens( who just happen to have a culture similar to native americans), stopping the crooked banker from forclosing on the homesteaders to build his multistory robot casino/ brothel, all them tropes.
the mc main weapon would be the lawbringer, just can't decided if i want it to me a 5 meter tall mecha which the MC summons with the Marshall star they have pinned on em or if i wanna have it be a gun ala the Caster from outlaw star that fires in different manners
so basically trigun with more bravestar thrown in
storywise it would be episodic with mini-arcs similar to gintama.

Back after a long absence. Last post, honestly.

Now we've arrived at the present. New Order wants the old territory back. Jovians wanna spread communism. Aliens are pretty much the old plutocracy had they kept going. They wanna install a puppet democracy. Humans are wholly unaware of their presence.

Both sides are pouring money into mech research. This is where our MC comes in. He's a neurotic young lad who has built a high performance robot. However, it is not without flaws. Its particle cannon functions like a shotgun and lacks long range capabilities. A knockoff designed by his total bitch of a colleague is selected for mass production instead.

Aliens bomb the lab. MC is the only one who knows how his mech works so he uses it to cover their asses while they escape. They serve under a thug of a captain who despises intellectuals.

Jovians are blamed and war begins again. In-story they're represented mainly by one of their generals, a thin-skinned sycophant who abuses his power without a hint of shame or guilt.

The aliens are humanoid enough that they can pass for humans with the use of holograms and/or prosthetics. This part of the story focuses on one in the new order and another in the Jovians. We're neither told nor shown who they're impersonating, but we see their director who reviews their performance.

In fairy tales, many forget the modern age.

We are in 2657 after the great beginning, of all the species who lived by 1880 only the tools-user prevailed as major entity.
The human obviously were the first one to reach industrial age, being weak per nature and relying upon their technology. Then came the Elves, discovering out of the blue how fast human flying-vehicle were progressing. The Dwarf, master of the Earth entered an economic race going as far as to ally with gnomes.

But many other species, relying too much on their innate strength were driven to extinction or near. The mighty Dragons are now an endangered species hunted for their scale and kept into reserve. Orc and goblins enslaved during the dark age were still treated as cheap workers up to 1950 although they once ruled over entire continent.

The Fairykind adapted by quickly becoming indispensable to other species. Human needed spy and portable-magic-source, Elves needed to spy upon human and grew used to play long-living councelor. Dwarf guilds liked fairies for their ability to do high-frequency trading and scout mines.
Yet, Fairykind never shined as much as they once had... until the diamond age. Miniaturization of technology gave them more and more power at a low cost, leading them to become first rate repairers.

Proud descendant of the great Fruitpip Flamewand, Cybcore Flamewand had been gifted with her incredible control over fire. Greatest warrior of the CyberFairies Corps her armor allow her to channel a power similar as of a great dragon, she is a pretty big deal for such a small personae. Easy to burst into flame too.

Today she's been asked to investigate with an human officer. The investigation that started checking on human alchemists would lead them to preventing the activation of dangerous void-technomancy created by Elves Suprem(r)acist.

Before leaving her mentor Saturn Cryowand had warned her "Be careful, Human can be charming" (...to fairykind).

Real & Super (yes)
>Setting:
A galactic war
>Story Premise:
This is a world were empire made of hundred of planet wage their war using two sort of weapon.
- Gigantic fleets of AI-controlled spaceship obeying realistic law of physics
- and CUSTOM GIANT ROBOT, said to be made of "super science" and manned by heroes which try to follow the rules of cool, courage and wisdom.

The AI-fleets cannot FTL without those Magic-robot which cannot be controlled by anybody too clever
And thus warfare revolve around pilots fighting mostly for moral or psychological superiority and through the limitation of that hyper-secretive "super-science", with tactic like AI-fleet trying to overwhelm the pilots and threatening to bring untold destruction if those doesn't surrender.

But it's implied there's something very wrong going. The pilots of those giant machine are never very bright and all governments keep their population in the dark.
The only exception to those breathtaking battle of stupendous scale are small groups of "terrorist" (made of quite smarter pilot) with very tiny robot of surprisingly superior super-science.

We follow the adventure of one of those Imperial hot-blooded pilot during his glory and fall as he began to understand the truth behind the super-science.
The truth ? The super-science is all a nonsensical fluff, hiding CRYSTAL of UNKNOWN ORIGIN that allow to REWRITE PHYSIC with your MIND ...as long as one do not know they do.
Thus little by little our hero lose his ability to pilot those GIGANTIC SUPER WEAPON as he understand how they really work.

He'll discover that the "terrorist" are made of people who discovered why those CRYSTAL worked like that. Those are the remnant of (now) Ascended being who had originally built them to help, yet refuse being -knowingly- used to oppress.

A truth that government try to hide, as the current system grant them power over uneducated mass.

> it goes with the above
"Super Science Unit" or SSU.
Such is the general codename of the gigantic weapon meant to defend our planet from invader. They were also the key to FTL transportation across the galaxy. Without them, all conventional science spacecraft can only move using the old action/reaction principle.

A terrible secret surround those unit.
To the public, our super science is kept secret to protect it from enemy intelligence, and charismatic pilot are selected because only someone with an unwavering will to protect the planet can be entrusted such ultimate weapon.
The truth is more sinister. It work on f*cking magic crystal unearthed from ancient ruins, those crystal when powered alter the very laws of physics to make true the will of anyone close by... but only if one is unaware of this fact.
Don't think we didn't tried to get around, study it intensely, we still understand nothing, but the worse had yet to happen, other country already had started weaponization program through obscurantism.
We HAD to follow, at the cost of keeping our brightest scientist away from it and having the crystal used by stupid patriots.

As this secret is also the only key to interstellar travel, one must be extremely careful spreading this knowledge, because letting this leak to the population could turn a SSU into a gigantic but useless junk and doom the planet
...until the knowledge is repressed, through a genocide if need be.

We are living the last moment of Earth.

A pulsar is about to sterilize the entire solar system in less than a century. To survive extinction Mankind dedicated all its effort to create as much Colony ship as possible.
Earth was ransacked, considered lost Earth-bound government collapsed as most of humanity tried to claw its way into space, and secure a place on a space colony.
To maximize their chance of survival the thousand colony ships are prepped to all begin interstellar travel simultaneously.

50 years later we are now in the last month before the great departure, from Earth's surface one can see the occasional and incredible radiance of their engines tests.
Earth is a wasteland inhabited by various community, groups who don't believe in the apocalypse, misguided organization hoping to survive in underground or underwater base, new world order fanatic trying to build a last utopia, religious clans & sects gathering mortals to transcend, bandits, scavengers and just forsaken inhabitant trying to survive on what's left of mankind's cradle, devastated by pollution and colonization wars.

Our story begin with the death of the MC's last relative and the beginning of his quest to board a colony ship.
His ace in the sleeve is a AI+mech of exceptional endurance and resilience. Originally built to explore Mars for resources (before they stopped building the last colony) it is able to walk for days through impossible terrain.
In this fabulous tales of mankind's innate will to survive our MC will encounter many complex personality.

Super Robot Clash !

In a world where a few mad-scientist are gifted, 2 of them build giant robot to defend their country's industries.
- One is a old man, very narcissistic, He build armies of complex little robots who assemble into a modular super-robot. His attack are always carefully planned trap
- The second is a young boy building Overpowered but basic Super-Robot always bigger like a Matryoshka doll.

Both country had the idea to have another "gifted" as collaborator for those mad-scientist, mostly in the desperate hope of keeping material damage to a minimal.
- One is a women capable of inspiring people by her simple presence, except it doesn't work on the narcissistic old man.
- The second is a serious adult man, like a perfect butler. His gift is to make machine absolutely safe... alas he can never get the young boy to listen to him.

One day, the two collaborator meet in the ruins of an after-battle. Later in a coffee-shop a waiter get inspired to create the most perfect coffee in the surest coffee-maker ever, and both decide to stop the needless destruction by devising a plan to teleport both mad-scientist to the moon during their next combat.

And it work !
But once done, they realize that the 2 country will now war in a very bloodier way, no more predictable attack, no more preemptive evacuation, both side will use army of little bloody bot until new mad scientist appear

Will the collaborator manage to install a lasting peace ?
Will the 2 mad-scientist on the moon stop fighting and put their difference aside ?

Expanding on the setting...

When the Earth closed its hypergates, cutting it off from the rest of the Empire, the administration of the Empire was taken over by Proxima, a world orbiting Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Sun. This made Proxima the first extrasolar settlement, the big brother to all of Earths other extrasolar colonies.

The Cygnus Republic is headquartered on a planet orbiting 61 Cygni. Other than its relative proximity, not terribly important in terms of humanity's extrasolar expansion. Basically, a middle sibling.

Refering to Proxima as the older brother and Cygnus as a middle child does oversimplify things a bit, but its a useful metaphor. In the absence of parental authority (Earth), eldest child (Proxima) takes over, middle child (Cygnus) doesn't like how big brother runs things and decides break off do their own thing.

I picked Tau Ceti as the home system for the protagonists because of the real-life science around that system. The star is very similar to the Sun in size and luminosity, and it has an Earth-sized planet in its habitable zone. This would have made it an early target for colonization if not for the high amount of asteroids in the system posing a serious collision risk. So colonization didn't start until much later, after a lot of the astroids had been mined for resources and what couldn't be used demolished.

A "real robot" show but we only see the consequences.

Takes place AFTER a major civil war focusing on the rebuilding of the nation. War mechs are now re-purposed for construction and police work. Soliders have to figure what to do with their life. Some suffer from PTSD, and show of flashbacks of the war. Some can't live peacefully anymore and become violent. Others are amputees and have to live with a disability and some will never recover from their war wounds. The new regime ahs to figure out to how run a fucking country and likely has outside countries possibly ready to conquer their weakened nation or wanting to restore the old despot that was friendly to them. Members of the old regime go into exhile, others won't accept the war is over and keep fighting.

You get the idea.

Every episode has a different protagonist, but there are recurring characters. Also the communists won.[spoilers]

Oh wow! I've had a fairly similar concept in my head for a long time.

The Setting is a large Terran-like earth, mostly covered in overgrown jungle/vegetation. For the most part, humankind is fairly tribal, and remains mostly nomadic, or in small rural villages. The only exception to this are the two only major cities on the planet -built in and around 2 giant spires dug deep into the planet, with only its top quarter poking through. (Imagine New York built around A Baoa Qu, surrounded by dense jungle) These two cities are very advanced compared to everywhere else. Their primary source of energy is a glowing blue liquid/lava (Imagine FF7 life stream) Everything runs on this limited resource, but is found in some animals and fauna in nature. It is also found in towering godlike Kaiju that roam the planet aimlessly -only one has ever been killed, close to where the two cities are located. There are 3 classes of God Kaiju, 1 being the largest+strongest, and vice versa.
A Class Two Kaiju God appears outside the city one particular morning, though usually passive, the kaiju is rampaging in a portion of newly built land, an expansion to the city. All pilots are outfitted with power armor, and a flyable bike.
Our main character is a recent graduate from the military academy, coming from a respected military family. The assault on the Kaiju god begins, and immediately half of the fleet of 50 are killed. A long drawn out battle ensues, with more teammates being killed left and right. Blah blah blah more action, The MC goes in for its core -(the only way to kill it) and is swiped at, his flyable being destroyed in the hit. He lands on its arm and runs down the arm jumping towards its core, and with his spear he penetrates it, becoming the 2nd soldier to kill a Kaiju god.

Eventually we learn the gods are protector of the lands, and only pose a threat when excess of nature is destroyed, or life stream is taken from the planet/its inhabitants.
No giant mechs in the beginning, but everyone gets a Vanquish-esque suit of power armor, that allows them to move around like Birdy (from Decode) skating and jumping around long distances. I drew a couple concepts a long time ago, but imagine a Nihei + Final Fantasy style of aesthetic.

While I have no clue what the story of this game is like, I'd still love the shit out of an anime adaptation just to see the designs in motion.

Veil of Madness: Animu Edition.

Diplomacy through superior power armor and scare tactics.

If you know anything about the Veil of Madness, it's a spoof of H:FY and also pretty lulzy. So it would naturally be a comedy. Albeit a tad darker than most.

I love those designs.

They're so bizarre looking I used them as Alien mecha in a Mekton Zeta game.

I would love to adapt Zeta Gundam into a comic series. There would be major plot changes to keep things fresh.

OP here, I just realized I completely herped and forgot to post the second half of my idea.

So the MC's unit and their former enemies form an alliance and strike out into the wastelands. Thew quickly find that the world has gone to hell ( well more so than it already had). In the cities there were huge riots as the food ran out.

While in the wastelands outside, the other units started to figure out what had happened, that they have been abandoned, and have gone rogue. The MC and his allies meet a few who are trying to do right by the refugees streaming out of the mega-cities. Most stranded soldiers, however became bandits, attacking outlying settlements, raiding and pillaging.

The MC leads the unit into the heart of his home mega-city looking for his mom. They suffer a few losses from battles with bandits and a power struggle develops between the MC and the commander of their former enemies. They developed a friendship early on, but the commander let's call him Jonas, chafes at having to follow the MC's orders. He grows increasingly jealous of the esteem the MC has, especially after he starts to blame the MC for the deaths of his men.

Eventually, he convinces his men to help him stage a mutiny against the MC.

That night, they storm the camp and quickly disarm most people. However, a couple of minor characters were out scouting for bandits and figure out what happened before they return.

(To be continued)

Tl;dr version:
The Right Stuff meets Metal Gear Solid meets Hot Shots! Part Deux.

Blog post version:
In the not-too-distant future, low Earth orbit has become increasingly popular for transport, recreation, and military endeavors. Everyone wants to go to space. What humanity hasn't counted on was space coming to them.

Within a month of each other, Tokyo and Beijing are struck by kinetic penetrator rods ("rods from God"), each with the force of a tactical nuclear bomb. All the evidence points to some kind of orbital bombardment--but with no known source and a tense political situation, anti-satellite missiles are out of the option.

Enter the space marines. Japan and China begin training astronauts and special-ops troops to go into space, find and destroy the satellite(s), and flex their nation's astromilitary might while they're at it.

It's the grorious nippon Orbital Self-Defense Force and the People's Space Liberation Army vs. a rogue doomsday device that can strike anywhere at any time without any possibility of interception. What could possibly go wrong?

I can't think of any details about the protagonist, only that he has pic related tattooed on his arm, because reasons.

Front Mission - Dog Life & Dog Style The Anime
>>
I'd love to see a series that was a mix between the recent Clone Wars show and The Wire in terms of how it's episodes and seasons were laid out. While The Clone Wars had it's problems, one of the things I loved about it was how episodes and arcs jumped between characters, groups, locations and even time over a large range so that you really got a good sense of just how immense the war was and how much was involved in it. The Wire's framing showing both sides of a conflict as sympathetic but flawed group and that it was the institutions that became the problem along with how each season introduced more institutions and players so that by the end you have a huge cast was great too.

What I guess I'd be suggesting is a show that starts off by introducing us to the common soldiers on both sides of a galactic conflict. Over the course of the first season have it jump between infantry, pilots, navy and so on in a sci-fi setting, with the infantry in power armor (including orbital drop capabilities), the pilots using star-fighters, the navy in a variety of ships including warships, sub-space submarines and interdictors and so on. Have the individual stories be more about showing why they decided to sign up, what they're fighting for, dealing with the shittiness of war via camaraderie while showing that both sides are going through the same thing. And the finale of the season could involve some or all of the various groups shown during the season coordinating in a massive battle.
>>
>>13625556

Then, in subsequent seasons start introducing further groups that are involved in a war to give a greater overall sense of how the war effects everyone. So the second season we start to get introduced to the civilians at home who are having to ration and sacrifice on luxuries to help the war effort while worrying about their kids and whether they're alive or not, third season introduces the officers and we start to get a look at strategic planning and how cold and impersonal it can be towards individuals but is necessary to achieve greater success, fourth season introducing spies and special forces behind enemy lines, fifth season introducing the press, both war reporters doing the dirty work and the normal press back home on both sides and how each portrays what's happening through the lens of their own views and goals.

Again, the individual stories would be small for any group since you might only get a handful of episodes a season for them, but it would portray a large tapestry to show how everything is connected.

If you had to have main leads a la the Jedi in Star Wars, and I'm not opposed to the idea personally, then I would prefer that they be cyborgs using technology to become more than, rather than spiritual knights using nature to do so. So you'd have super soldiers in better power armor with cyborg upgrades to be stronger and faster along with neural improvements that allow them to control equipment better and their Force equivalent would come from having a deeper and better connection with their cyborg elements rather than with nature and portraying that as a good thing, as opposed to the cold and inhuman thing some post-human stuff in that vein goes with. These super soldiers would then be able to remotely control vehicles or even funnel like equipment and weapons if they're skilled or trained enough and could be better at infiltration and so on because of it.

Ugh I wrote a full post's worth of an MMO idea down, but the stupid connection error shit had the whole thing gone and deleted.
>>
Okay I am gonna try to repost what I wrote/got deleted. MMO game. Pick your class:

Navy - The TANK of the MMO trinity. Does stuff on the battleship. Has 3 specializations. Ship Captain is responsible for actual movement and direct protection of ship plays like a mecha space sim version of a tanky MMO Warrior. Weapons Captain is responsible for all the weapons on the ship has a wide variety arsenal plays like space combat games. Drone Captain sends out drones which are the mass produced guys that get launched every battle gameplay is like space RTS using a variety of drones to do many things.

Army - Mecha pilots. Wide variety of mecha customization. Gameplay is Armored Core + ZOE2. Sexy smooth mecha gameplay with lots of customization. The DPS of the MMO trinity.

Air Force - The HEALER of the MMO Trinity. Most versatile class. Doesn't use mechas uses starfighter planes that can also operate underwater. Repairs, resupplys, support fire, flag carrier equivalent, etc. Get small SPT Layzner sized mechas in endgame which become the fastest units by far.

Story's SRW combined with Warhammer 40k. Genocidal alien threat is gonna kill everyone, but everyone has their own agenda/way through this dark time. Setting is like La Gias in SRW; a combo of sci fi tech and alchemical magic.

Factions (generic names atm):

Religious Faction: The only ones who believe religion can help here. Specialty is using Divination on their machines.

Libertarian Faction: Take an obviously libertarian approach towards everything. Specialty is using a manmade rare resource formed through the alliances of many places on earth.

Zeon based Faction: Tyrannic faction that believes things can only be done by keeping them "pure" and having lots of power. Specialty is having telekinetic magic.

Nomad Space Pirate Faction: Leftist as fuck guys. Specialty is stealing enemy's specialty.

Genocidal aliens: Exist to devour. Heat death of universe + magic use formed these maybe. Magical biotech specialty

an idea that has been going around in my head for several days.

its currently late in the 21 century space colonization hasent hit off and it seems as if it never will as all the nations are focused on events on the ground. only a smattering of corporations have set up half forgotten mining outpost way out in the belt. far from earth and policed by undermanned and underfunded space patrol(think the Paladins of the Punjaub on the NWF) the colonist groups have split into rival and feuding clans something only furthered by the inherited division brought from earth(culture, language and religion)conflict is invertible and for there battle needs the clans have turned to mechs because of the technical skill and resources needed to create and maintain them as symbols of wealth and prestige. when two clans have an argument which can be resolved with words they clobber each other up on a asteroid on mutual choosing.
the patrol stands on guard to make sure these conflicts dont flare up like the event that created them. la mc would be the heir to one of the clans trying to prove his fitness to rule on the battlefield and has a romeo/jueilt relationship with the daughter of his fathers worst enemy his ambition being to conquer all the other clans so he can both have the largest harem and go down in the history books something the space patrol wants to avoid. the anime would be a fifty pater with a movie or two as he fore-fills both goals. enemy clans would be...
