Usual interpretation would be that she is really really far away.
It's said that the lack of visual landmark will really fuckup our sense of scale in space.

I made this almost a year ago for /m/ and some people seemed to like it; the video is 1hr28m long and features all seven Unicorn OVAs with everything but combat scenes edited out. I believe there's a slight video quality drop towards the end. All the mirrors for this died about ten months ago, so I re-uploaded it. Sorry, it's English only. The file size is large enough as it is.

Let me know if you guys actually watch it, thanks
This is 1080p isn't it?
Just watched the first episode of this. Eh not a bad start but judging from the cheerleaders, the MC, and the ED sequence, I think this doesn't know how to take itself seriously.
Anyone else think the MC looks like Joey Jones with black hair? (look up Heroman if you don't know what I'm talking about)
That Monday girl is totally a plot device, right? Are there like 6 more of her?
Decent mecha action I guess, but animation could be better. It's also a little heavy on the expositionbut this is only the third Gundam I've watched...

I'm going to give you a friendly hug before this thread descends into shit posting.
It really starts picking up after the first few episodes, stick with it. Just be prepared for the occasional weird happening and loose end

>but this is only the third Gundam I've watched after 00 and AGE, and I haven't even finished those yet
oh dear

>I think this doesn't know how to take itself seriously.
Because it doesn't need to. This show is an adventure, not a dark and serious war drama.
Anyway, make sure you pay close attention to what everyone says. A lot of people got confused about the plot, but everything is explained.
What's your wallpaper?
Cropped version of this.

With Picard as Professor Saotome, Troi as Michiru and Wesley as Genki.
Tonight [Adult Swim] ran a bump featuring Mobile Suit Gundam... What does it all mean?
Think Banrise finally coughed up the broadcast rights? Or is it nothing?

Probably nothing, but who knows with Sunrise, they're all insane.

Its possible we might get something. Toonami hasn't been shy about admitting they want a Gundam series on the block.
That said, there is no reason to get hopeful yet. As said, its entirely possible that nothing will happen.
Is Anno a fascist? One of his favourite anime is Uchuu Senkan Yamato, he wrote an embarrassingly nationalistic backstory for Gunbuster so that Japan would end up as the Earth's leading power, all the NGE characters are named after WW2 ships and a lot of his statements about modern Japan or Japan post-WW2 are in-line with the sentiments of a lot of right-wing commentators of the time. Many of his attitudes seem to line up with Mishima Yukio's for example especially when he talks about the emasculation or the infantilisation of the Japanese people.
How about other...

Would you rather be a Newtype, Gundam Fighter, Innovator, Coordinator, X-Rounder, or just a normal human who is also a really good pilot?
>>12396791
I'd like to be a newtype but stay the fuck out of giant robot wars if I can help it.

I want to watch Gunbuster/Diebuster this weekend, should I start with series or movies?
There are no movies.
Are the movies ever the right choice?
What movies?

I love when shows do that, can't think of any examples though
BF and Try.
Can we have a /m/-literature thread?
I only ask because when I really think about it, the only thing I can call /m/-literature is Starship Trooper and even then the suits are hardly the focus of the work. And it seems sad that my list includes only a single work.
>>12394696
I really didn't like Starship Troopers. Hell, I don't like anything Heinlein has done. Compared to Clark and Asimov, he really was the weakest of the big three.
There are the various (Mostly untranslated) Gundam Novels, tons of light novels of various different series (which are also untranslated)...
Really, if you want mecha books, you gotta read the moon runes.
Well, there's always Haldeman. Forever War and Forever Peace are the two /m/-related books of his that come to mind, Forever War being the better book, but Forever Peace having the better /m/ parts.
>>12394719
Heinlein was at his best with short stories. The Unpleasant Profession of Johnathan Hoag, And He Built A Crooked House, The Roads Must Roll, etc. are all nice and solid stories, provided you don't ask too much out of them.
I don't know quite why his novels suffered, but the only two I think approached the calibre of his short stories were Moon Is A Harsh Mistress and Door Into Summer (off the top of my head).
I actually have to say Clarke was the weakest, however, at least his most popular...
