So I recently finished reading "Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Burned" that are available in English. Sadly there's only 12 chapters translated, and by the looks of things whoever was translating it is dead/no longer doing it. Since it hasn't had an update since 2010.
Too bad no one is translating this manga its pretty good, there's 9 Volumes total and a sequel manga called "Giant Robo: Babel no Roujou"
I looked around for awhile to see if i could find raws of the later chapters but I had no such luck.
Interestingly enough its written by Yasuhiro Imagawa the guy who did the 1996-98 OVA of Giant Robo.
I find the art style interesting, don't know why but it really reminds me of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Is this drawn by that S-cry-ed mangaka?

Pretty much just Sailor Otaku in his solitary crusade to sub Winspector. Moon-Lighters did a single ep for Jiban a while back, but are still heavily focused on Detective Conan (just let Aoyama end the series already, please).

Heard a bit about Muv-Luv over the years but I've never been near any of the games.
Can any of it be obtained in English? Ideally uncut? I've heard it has "adult content" but is it just a mecha-hentai? Or is there more to it?

That seems impractical as shit, and you can't even flip it around like a proper butterfly knife.
On the other hand I do like the idea of having two buttefly knives strapped to my legs. So design rejected, but go back to the drawing board and we may field your robot yet Mr Anonymous.

Holy crap /m/. I started this show and fucking loved it up until episode 8 where this shit starts happening. This great show where the battles were a little more "realistic" in a very broad sense on the term, and then it focuses all of a sudden on this love shit that I thought wouldn't come back until the last few episodes or something. But here we are. I feel like I know what road this is going down and I might as well quit while I'm ahead, but the series is so short I may as well finish it to say I did.
Totally wrecked my day and I just can't...

What are some good Animes similar to Sidonia S01?
I especially value a sense of danger during battle and lots of characters dying or nobody being really safe.
Control rooms and tactical maps are a plus too.
Muv Luv Alternative seems to do it well too. At least from the first couple of episodes I watched.

What is the proportion of "gritty MUH REALISM" vs. supernatural bullshit? Because that's usually the weakest part of Takahashi's works.

Pretty much this.
The TAs are pretty hot and it has more than the occasional cool moment but there is a lot of weirdness (both political and supernatural).
Plays with muh realism in that the mechs are pretty much real robots (without the protag's hax) but the Kugai aren't.
