So /m/, I decided to give this show a chance, (even though my friends told me it wasn't worth it) but I ended up enjoying a lot,
it was like a rare mix between 0079, G, X, Turn A and King Gainer.
Anyway let me get to the point,
I have some questions:
*Was there more than 1 Amerian
Vessel like the Salamandra?(I think that's it's name) because I swear I saw it appear in the last episode.
*Did they ever clarify if Bellri or Mashner we're newtypes?(because around ep16 I heard the same newtype sound from F91 and well mashner being mashner)

It was an animation error corrected in the BDs.

I just finished this finally.
I feel pretty confused honestly. The show was weird, like it was a comedic parody/satire of mecha anime but it kept all the deaths and drama intact. Yet the quickfire comedic timing would come right after it. A lot of the episodes were just bizarre and it felt like an experimental project.
On the other hand I liked the cast, the humour was quite funny and the Aestivalis' were cool. I definitely enjoyed those aspects, and the gut punch in one of the last eps where everyone got all hyped up about Gekiganger only to discover it's...

That's just it.
That's JUST it.
This guy was the big bad of the movie. Akito's allies had just taken on the role of fighting all the henchmen themselves to let Akito challenge him. They stare each other down like in the pic. They charge at each other. They throw a punch.
That's it, fight's over.
Movie ends within 3 minutes.
Anyone want to discuss old mecha? I am watching Gall Force this evening.
The other day I watched Daimajuu Gekitou: Hagane no Oni. Short and fighting happens at the end, but worth the watch.
Not necessarily 90's but anyone have recommendations for Any OVA like MD Geist/Mad Bull 34/Cyber City Oedo?

What's a good Gundam series that's relatively newish (say, came out around 2000 or later)?
The most important thing to me is interesting characters you can care about. After that, a good plot with some of those "fuck yeah" moments where things happen that you hoped, or maybe even didn't dare hope, would happen. After that, I guess cool mecha and appealing art. And then after that I guesswaifus.

Would a colony drop be something that anybody on the surface of the Earth would notice? What I mean is, would it cause earthquakes, bad shit ect. on the other side or the planet? Would you hear a huge boom? Just what would a colony drop be like?

yes, you need a head and at least three limbs or your fighting machine will not work.
so I'm assuming the Jaguar in the future portion of the Daitetsu episode is the younger Super Jaguar from the future, probably sent back in time again to fix the paradox or whatever. So where is the Jaguar we all know?

What mecha shows feature Ireland or even Irish characters? Gundam is one, but I don't like it's portrayal of the country in the original MSG era or 00. Dublin has an "English Quarter" for some reason in the former, and the IRA are still fighting in 00. Do the Japanese even know what they're doing? Doesn't seem like it.

A character from Fafner is from Ireland, but I think Ireland was invaded/decimated by aliens.
She's a pilot and then a mech engineer. She attempts to give the mechs she gives names from Irish mythology, but the Japanese kids who pilot them complain that the names are too hard to remember and she has to give them Japanese names instead.
