Hey, /m/. I'm working my way through the Godzilla movies in order (watched Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster yesterday), and that's going great, but I'd like to mix things up a bit. Gamera is coming after Godzilla. Already watched both Rodan and Mothra. I've also already watched The Host and Pacific Rim.
What I'd like is recommendations for non-Godzilla, non-Gamera kaiju films from the past ten years or so. Some kind of big production would be great, but indie shit is fine if it's well-done for its budget and tells an interesting story.

Human Revolution was a decent game, but had an atrocious story. I dislike all the conspiracy shit though, so I get the feeling Deus Ex just isn't for me. Even the gameplay, which had a focus on "play your way" was unbalanced, since sneaking around and taking out enemies one at a time was more rewarding than simply mowing them down.

Why do people put Gundam on a pedestal and place it above everything else in the genre? Like, I won't rag it, but it seems a lot of people here just watched it as their first mecha show and now think it's DA BES THING EVAR. Honestly, it reminds me of how gainaxfags put NGE and GL above every other mecha with shitty buzzwords like "deconstruction" and "homage"

Everyone on this board is aware that Gundam sucks, right? I mean, some parts of it are somewhat well-animated. But in its entirety, it pretty much sucks massive amounts of dick, and you all know it. Otherwise you wouldn't waste half of the board's bandwidth discussing how much you hate it.
