I read it and thought it was pretty good. Well evoked setting, depressing 70s Britain. I liked the psychology of the children/teenagers, felt horribly realistic in a way, like I could believe that incident could happen given the right conditions. Line by line I wasn't blown away by the prose but that wasnt the point I guess. It could've been 20% shorter and I'm not sure I would have missed anything. Also I wonder if its subject matter may have been more shocking at the time of publication rather than now when we are all desensitized to dark shit from being on the net all the time.
