What's his best? What's his worst?
How many fart jokes have been made at his expense?

I assume all of it is shit because he is fat and ugly and thus must be a man of weak character and spirit.

He's 90. The only real objections to being fat are:
1) You die young
2) You're sexually unattractive
Gass has been married for decades and is now decades past any chance of dying young. He spent those decades doing what he loves instead of sweating away on the treadmill. Seems to me that he lived the right way.

Well, I love everything he wrote, fiction and nonfiction, but if I had to pick which of his fictional works were the best, I'd go with Omensetter's Luck, In the Heart of the Heart of the Country, Cartesian Sonata, and The Tunnel, while his "worst" would be Middle C, Eyes, and Willie Master's Lonesome Wife.

That was such a good episode.
