ive heard that some of his are good, and others are not good, and that some of them are in between
>>
He's one of the very finest novelists of his generation, and literally they are all worth reading. Read the turn of the screw though

Golden Bowl, Ambassadors, and Washington Square are what I've read f his, and I enjoyed all three. Ambassadors and The Golden Bowl were excellent. I'm looking to dive into more of his novels after I clear out more of my backlog.

A lot of it is shit.
Just read The American, The Princess Casamssima, The Portrait of a Lady, The Turn of the Screw, and The Golden Bowl. Also look into his autobiography.

One of the finest American writers imo, but, like many Americans, he suffers from sentimentalism.

That's literally not even the half of it. He's one of the writers whose bibliography just makes you go "dude what the fuck"

If he sat down to write for a couple hours every day for ~50 years, it's not hard to imagine how he could write that much. There are a few other novelists who were just as industrious, like Anthony Trollope and Honore de Balzac

back then, they didnt have tv or internet, and the porn was shit.

Finish the Aspern Papers and get control over your ADHD.
