Actually false naivety. You obviously know the source of their sarcasm, so its not genuine. Be assertive by asking them to explaining their reasoning. It forces them to either open their reasoning to counterattack (or if they are correct, understanding) or they defend with some other insult, which if so you aren't really having a conversation, so either just insult them back or find something better to do.
