>muh wonderously quirky and picturesque twee lyrics
pure trash, and she is very ugly, but has a great ass. anyone have the webm of the piano playing?
I haven't heard a heck of a lot of her music and it's been a while, so I may be way off, but three that come to mind are Whitman, Longfellow, and Edward Taylor based on what I remember of her lyrical style and content. I'll give you links to an example of each so you can judge for yourself.
Whitman's On a Beach at Night Alone:

Longfellow's On Nature:

Taylor's Upon a Spider Catching a Fly:

In general, I think if you browse among the Transcendental, Romantic, and Metaphysical poets, you're bound to find something you like.
Oh, one more suggestion for you, Percy Bysshe Shelley. Here's a link to one of his more well-known poems, Mont Blanc:

Incidentally, thay poem is essentially retold in prose form in his wife Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (pretty much all of one chapter and maybe the very beginning of the next if I remember correctly).

And to give you a much different, and more modern, suggestion, you might look at Sylvia Plath. I've only read her collection Ariel (as far as her poetry goes, anyway, I've also read The Bell Jar), and think you might enjoy it. For much of her poetry, though, you'll need to know a good bit of her biography or else look up about the poems as much of it directly references or responds to particular events in her life. As a sample, here's a link to one of my favorites from Ariel, Berck-Plage:
