Why do you read?
I do because I enjoy it, but there is also another reason. I read because I feel the need to be better than others. But I didn't start reading because "oh, if I do this i'll feel better than most people!". I did it inconsciously. I started enjoying books and probably one of the reasons was I wanted to be better than others.
That's also one of the reasons I know 4 languages and am currently learning another.

Nice masturbatory post, OP.
I, too, like to feel better than others and will often smugly make literary references amongst normies that I know they won't get.

The meaning of the thread is implicit
non-pretentious answer
i like it
pretentious but comprehensive answer
i find it more aesthetically compelling than film or music, so i can binge read for days at a time but i can only watch around 12~ hours of movies at a time without losing interesting.

>pretentious

i know exactly what pretentious means
I don't like being uninformed about certain topics, it makes me feelLIKE MY PUSSY IS BEING TURNED INTO AN IDIOT BY YOUR COCKand that just won't do
I enjoy it, and it feels like I'm doing something good for me.
to look for tools to understand the chaos surrounding me

>Why do you read?
I want to know shit, basically. And it feels nice when you read pleasant-sounding passages.
Learning to play an instrument or draw art is simply too much work and costs too much money (more work).

Oh, OP was asking about reading...
I read to write, so it's the same reason anyway.
I feel a connection to other people, in particular to the author who wrote it and to the community of people who have read it.
It is just on another scale and of a different quality of someone writing you a letter.
i like it and i think some of this shit is illegal in live action porn
>I need some meaning I can memorize

hes just a follower and thinks everyone else is.

You're acting like insightful people just magically have some gift that makes them that way.
Leaders worth a shit are willing to listen and learn. If you want to be some thick as bricks warlord I guess you can get by without.
Because why the fuck wouldn't you read? Everyone should read and if you don't yer a dummy
