I don't get it.Why was Yash such a slut
because Pynchon padded the novel with his personal erotic writings under the guise of 'maximalism' so he could beat DFW's 1079 page count
Pynchons my fav writer for sure because my fav thing in books is goofs, gags, jokes and rambunctious behavior, and his books are full to the brim of it. Every novel is like one of those novelty snake cans, you open the book & POP you get a face fulla snakes and you fall back cackling. The mad mind, the crack genius, to do it! and then you think hmmm whats he gonna do next, this trickster, and you pick the book back up and BZZZZZZZZZZ you get a shock and Hahahahahah you've been pranked again by the old pynchmeister, that card. "Did that Pynch?" he says, laughing yukyukyukyuk. Watch him as he shoves a pair of plastic buck teeth right up into his mouth and displays em for you- left, right, center- "you like dese? Do i look handsome???" Pulls out a mirror. "Ah!" Hand to naughty mouth. And you're on your ass again laughing as he snaps his suspenders, exits stage right, and appears again hauling a huge golden gong.

I like this pasta
Don't have room to save it anywhere though
I wish Pynchon played VtMB and wrote a book about it.

I really, really like this copypasta.
Mind if I save it?

The boys going off on their airship irritated the hell out of me, and their appearance always made me sigh and roll my eyes. It felt like Pynchon just couldn't end the book on a downer (or at least "realistically").
I was hoping they'd get shot down or something.

I actually like this copypasta and I think it's a good representation of one aspect of Pynchon's writing.

Memeing aside, AtD has a lot of build up to it, but not much of an ending. Regardless, it's still a beautiful journey through history. Despite it's length, it's probably one of Pynchon's most accessible books. There's several storylines that occur within the book, but I found them suprisingly easy to follow along. Seeing that you have read Gravity's Rainbow, Mason and Dixon, and The Crying of Lot 49, you won't have much difficulty with this book.
