What are some good Vietnam War Memoirs? Firsthand accounts from people who were there.
graham greene is said to be good
not a memoir per se, but The Things They Carried is a good book about the experience of Vietnam-era soldiers.

I've already read that one. It was pretty good, though. Thanks anyway.

Not a fan but if you want to read about a brit shitting on america with some early cold war history I do recommend it. Pretty conspiratorial. Not a memoir though.

My favorite vietnam book. Ethereal vibe narrated with a calm and laconic voice. Not a cheery read but it's what you want I bet.
Also theres rumor of war by philip caputo. Well written but with the analysis and nationalism you'd expect from a college educated marine. Vietnam by karnow is a great work of journalism with everything you need to know about the war but has the pulse of a history textbook.
