First book was ok, got tired real fast of having to love a character and then be force to toss him aside. His robot serie was god tier in comparison.

The original trilogy is essential reading for any sci-fi fan. Sure it's very dated in places and not some of his best writing but it has so many original ideas and iconic characters that it's still a classic series.

I actually just finished reading the original trilogy this week and I really liked it. As this anon said >>8174456 the writing is nothing espectacular but I loved the world building and the characters. I really didn't mind the time jumps which are only very noticeable on the first book. It actually inspired me to start writing again, so I would say cool.
