I read that my country didn't have a direct translation for Don Quixote until 1957. Also, I'm not even sure we have a full translation of the Aeneid in verse today (certainly not to be found in modern book shops).

The first German translation of Murakami's South Of The Border.. was from the English. The currently available one is from the Japanese.
The English-German translation had many problems including a much stronger eroticism than the original had.
