He's fucking Stephen King, he does whatever he wants now, especially since he survived his little hit and run incident. His ego is the size of Maine.

Haven't you read any other King-novels? This is what he does in almost all of his books. They always start as your average horror/suspense story and they end as a fantasy with parallel universes and demigods and psychic superpowers etc.
