Not the above poster, but my two cents is that you missed out a bit on the Oxford Herodotus (Waterfield as translator is a name you will increasingly see and respect if you continue the Greeks), but Landmark isn't a big deal. Those editions a lot of info for a beginner and part of the fun of reading Herodotus and the like is trying to imagine the geographies and troop arrangements/movements they describe. It's a bit of a puzzle, and unless you have an iron will, the wealth of information in a landmark text might make the story less approachable.
If you love Herodotus and really want to get into the gritty details later, you can always reread your favorite chapters in a landmark edition. Considering how cheap the Penguin text probably was, you're totally fine.
With that said, have fun! Herodotus made me love history after grade school and undergrad made me hate it. Enjoy the ride!
