Thoughts on this? It's one of my favorites, but I thought I'd seek some validation from the discerning posters of /lit/

saw it at the thrift store yesterday for .50$ and decided to leave empty handed instead.

It's on my reading list, I've heard good things.
>coming to /lit/ to validate literary tastes

As an avid Steinbeck fan, I contribute my biased 9.99/10
It was my first book and got me into reading, would recommend to people who want to get into reading
It's my favorite book of all time, I could read this any day.

/lit/ doesn't seem to like it, but I think it's fantastic.
It has some of my favorite scenes/characters ever. I want to be Sam Hamilton.

one of my favourites. I also have that copy and I really dig that cover.
I liked it. Thought it was a bit heavy handed with the themes at times (especially the end).

This, the characters were very well done. I was a fan of it. Lee is the badass tutor I wish I had. That being said >>8141562 is also right, but if you keep in mind that it was written for his young children to describe his home in as beautiful a way as possible I don't think that really detracts from it.

/lit/ doesn't like anything except Joyce and Shakespeare. When they becomes 'memes' there will officially be no good books.
