No and no. I was once memed into buying Gravity's Rainbow and it's sitting on the shelf collecting dust now because 95% of it was schizophrenic gibberish. Get in the summer read-through thread. I thought that it was good, and certainly rewarding. Worth the read if you ask me, but you will think you got memed if you give up too soon.
honestly idk if it's the elusive Greatest Novel Ever that everyone hypes it up to be but it is definitely rewarding and worth the trek
