Liked him a lot, was my introduction to science fiction along with Asimov. Had a bunch of great ideas, his prose (as it is sadly the case with many other sf writers) wasn't always up to snuff. Congo and Sphere were pretty well written though.

His books are fun reads, and his prose is unobtrusive and well tailored to his genre.
