What do my /lit/fags do to help with retention in things like non-fiction or denser philosophy?
Do you highlight? Do you reread? What about notes? Are notes for the weak?

Post your comprehension and retention strategies. If you don't do anything post that too.

if you actually want to analyze the text, then make tons of notes as you read. highlighting phrases is a waste of time if you provide no analysis.

I fucking hate highlighting. I can understand notes, barely (is it so hard to go buy a fucking notebook?) but why ruin the book with fucking highlighter? This goes double if there's a e-book version available which you can deface at your heart's content and which is likely cheaper for older ones
