What does /lit/ think of niggress book?

It's pretty simple.
Is it written by a white male?
No?
Then /lit/ won't like it.
I was hoping I would enjoy it but I thought it was one of the worst books I've ever read. It has no redeeming qualities save for the unique description of a black community in its time and place.
i dont read books by people whose names start with the letter z

this is more prose than literature. personally, i loved the book. certainly not for the plot but for the way the author was really good at characterization and relating characters to nature. i say that it's prose because there's just a lot of metaphors and imagery and metaphors in the imagery than actual real narrative.
also i normally hate books that have southern dialect because they're usually so off it's just embarrassing to read but this author did a fairly okay job on dialect.
their eyes were watching god > heart of darkness (at least)
