I'm in need of some good horror novels.
Been picking stuff out at random. Suicide Forest by Jeremy Bates had a neat twist on Aokigahara but was otherwise meh. Read the novel version of pic related, was pretty entertaining. About a third of the way through A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay, and aside from the boring blog shit scattered within it's got a good premise going so far.

I think a lot of it is around the atmosphere that you read the book in.
That said, the only time I've felt truly afraid while reading is with House of Leaves while alone in my flat after dark. Can recommend if you're looking for dat nope feeling.

From some quick searching it seems I should get the physical book for this instead of using the kindle, so I'll be sure to look for it at the library soon. Thanks for the suggestion.
Guess I'll finish this exorcism novel first then move on to Floating dragon.
