bostrom ("human enhancement") is not an idiot... everybody else seems to be one for some reason, but it's not really my particular interest

When we become transhuman does this mean gender will finally be destroyed?

No

yes and the kingdom of god will come to be on earth and you'll never have to work again and you'll drink from rivers of brandy and eat from mountains of smoked salmon

does it satisfy you to churn out meme sentences over and over or like me does it germinate within you with a deep gnawing longing for something new

god i'm tired of your shit

No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

We're all going to die desu. Some dude is going to invent in vitro gene selection and algorithmically, unconsciously locate the genes for thirty seven non-holistic variations of being smart or athletic or whatever, and retard fat fuck Americans are going to turn us into a bleach blonde Brad Pitt cul-de-sac within two generations.

Someone's going to invent AI by doing full brain simulation and fucking bombarding it with algorithmic neo-ultra-lobes that don't need to be understood so long as they """""""work,"""""" so they can just run simulations of the simulations through a dumb sorting algorithm, until after sampling tens of trillions of shrieking disembodied minds and snuffing them out over and over and over again in a digital void (while the computer's creators go about their pointless faggot lives and masturbate to anime), it finally hits on one that makes for a """"good""" all-purpose AI that can respond to basic commands requiring general or adaptive high order reasoning, and then the first thing they're going to fucking do is strap it to something completely horrific and mundane like your stupid electric car's ass massager, and suddenly the entire inhuman Brad Pitt collective is going to be self-driving around while eating 10,000 calories a day, having their shitholes massaged by purposeless sentient superslaves, forever, on a worthless dead-end planet.

There are probably aliens flying around the galaxy who can count the number of civilizations who didn't turn themselves into cube-sorting dopamine proles on one appendage.

Read the Bible on a kindle. Transhumanism is just Christianity with science instead of Jesus.

Check out the writings of Nikolai Fyodorovich Fyodorov, he was a 19thcentury orthodox mystic and father of Russian cosmism, one of the first people to theorize about a remote post human future. Apart from serving as an antidote to Californian rand autist vision of transhumanism, Fyodorov had a huge influence in the Soviet space program (full of barely camouflaged mystical undertones) writers like Platonov and the geopolitical eschatology of Alexander Dugin

Try reading Jünger's "The Failure of Technology" as a forewarning of the naivety of transhumanist conceptions of technology as a liberating force

http://www.4shared.com/office/dJJuITXS/The_Failure_of_Technology_-_Fr.html
>When we enter a factory, be it a cotton mill, a foundry, a saw mill, or a powerhouse, everywhere we get the same impression. The consuming, devouring, gluttonous motion racing through time restlessly and insatiably, reveals the never stilled and never to be stilled hunger of the machine. So obvious is this hunger that even the impression of concentrated power which we receive in the centers of heavy industry cannot overcome it. In fact, it is strongest in these centers, because precisely here we find the greatest greed for power. And the rational mind which stands behind the machine and keeps watch over its automatic, mechanical motion – it too is hungry, and hunger follows it everywhere. It cannot shake off hunger; it cannot free itself from it; it cannot be stilled, however hard it may try. And how, indeed, could that be possible! This mind itself is consuming, gluttonous, and it has no access to riches; it cannot conjure up abundance. No effort of ingenuity, not all the inventive power that is brought to bear here can do it. For rationalization only sharpens hunger and actually increases consumption. This growing consumption is a sign not of abundance but of poverty; it is bound up with worry, want, and toil.

>It is precisely the methodical, disciplined effort leading to the perfection of the technical processes which destroys the basis for the hopes that certain groups place in this perfection. Progress in its present rapid advance creates an optical illusion, deceiving the observer into seeing things which are not there. Technology can be expected to solve all problems which can be mastered by technical means, but we must expect nothing from it which lies beyond technical possibilities. Since even the smallest mechanical process consumes more energy than it produces, how could the sum of all these processes create abundance? There can be no talk of riches produced by technology. What really happens is rather a steady, forever growing consumption. It is a ruthless destruction, the like of which the earth has never before seen. A more and more ruthless destruction of resources is the characteristic of our technology. Only by this destruction can it exist and spread. All theories which overlook this fact are lopsided because they disregard the basic conditions which in the modern world govern production and economics.

Transhumanistic world (provided the necessary technological advance, its possibility is completely another story) will look more like Blame! and less like an utopia some preachermen like picturing, in my opinion. The simplest argument, and the biggest problem, being that if you can create sentient beings with next to no resources or time, the value of sentient being (AI or human, no matter) lowers rapidly.
