So, /lit/, have you read the Pseudo-Aristotelian treatise "On Trolling"?

omg what about one 'on memeing' where you talk about memes like old style philosophers talked about substance, say, or virtue hehe.

LOVE internet culture!!

our parents will never understand us!

>Listening to old out-dated fucks talking about shit in an under-developed language in comparison to today's.

Just because you're not pondering the meaning of life and existence, and actually write something decent, funny and relevant doesn't make you less of a thinker in any way.

If anything, it takes more balls to tackle today's problems, than regurgitating whatever an 18th century prick wrote.

Fuck you.

Not familiar with what he said. Care to summarize?
>>

>trolling creates strife

The world is strife. Trolling merely reminds us of the strife that underlies everything, there is conflict everywhere between everything, especially ideas. One can't grow as a human without delving into the strife, those who strictly stand above it (ie those in hugbox communities) are living-dead. One must rise above it on occasion to gain perspective but the tallest trees must also have the deepest roots.

Academics of course do not want to believe this, they want to believe that everything can be ordered and classified and that rationality can win the war with humanity's inner beast.

>sentimental retards offing themselves over literally nothing
>people say mean things
>people can say things without people punishing them for it

you are the WORST kind of tool.

Hey anon, what are you reading these days? What do you think of it?
>>
>>8008862
Honestly, OP of the original post.

I agree that the world isn't MEANT to be easy. But don't we, like the superior creatures, and the great thinkers we're capable of being, have a responsibility to minimize that strife to those less capable?

Isn't that why philosophers/authors/thinkers/intellectuals offer their time for the betterment of man kind's condition?

The only other choice I see, is men searching for glory, over-looking the original pure impulse which was to better thyne neighbour, and by proxy, yourself.

Notes from the underground, as well as a casual re-reading of human, all too human from a different translator. I do that mostly in the bathroom, one shit at a time.
>>
>>8008979
One cannot better one's neighbor, man can only change through his own motion. There is no unmoved mover, man only creates this as a way to excuse and explain why the man today is not the man of yesterday (both as an individual and as a race).

Suffering creates the capable mind, to diminish it overmuch is to denude the soil that the greatest trees require to grow to their potential.

How's it a problem? If you're too dumb to live then you deserve to die.
