Does /lit/ use bookmarks?
>>
>>7999942
>dat pic
I get free ones at the bookstore whenever I buy a book. If I don't have one handy, a piece of paper works fine. During summer, a small flower picked from the field I was reading in will have to do.
>>
You only need one if you're a plebshit who stops a reading session mid-chapter
>>
Once in secondary school I had a crush on a boy who was into literature too, so I made him a bookmark asking if he'd go out with me in cross-stitch.
>>
>>8000072
Did he hit you?
He should have

I was actually waiting for the elitist to walk in and say
"I read all my books in one sitting you plebians!"

But I actually read with a tablet or kindle. For books that aren't electronic, I remember the page number, and usually the last sentence I had finished. This is usually because I'm too ignorant to find a bookmark.

It seems to me that a terrific book will send me back to the days of my childhood, when I loved to read, instead of merely liking it more than other shitty things in my life. On those days I will really really search for some kind of bookmark, out of pure excitement
>>
>>8000343
I came here to do that but >>7999987 was there first and, though it was done in the cheapest of manners, the opportunity is now lost
>>
I use yugioh cards. Somehow more comfortable than actual bookmarks.
>>
>>8000375
I do this all time
>>
>>8000189
>Does /lit/ have the worst namefags?
Sorry that you literally get unironically triggered when we misspeak.
>>
>>7999942
why not just remember the page number?
>>
My bookmarks only survive 2 or 3 books before they get lost, so I usually just wing it.
>>
>>8000370
>Waiting until completing a chapter to stop reading is elitist

I remember being taught this shit in elementary school.
>>
>>8000404

Plenty of arguments against this.

Some books are very large, and some reading speeds, very low.

Chapters are spaced differently for different books, and life is unpredictable.

So if you something comes up, we who have things to do in our lives, we need to put the book down and do them.

Your reading practice is not elitist, bragging about it is what makes you some kind of narcissistic moron who literally feels prous that he thinks he's smarter than internet strangers.
>>
>>8000437
So you fight elitism on the internet by claiming to be better than elitists on the internet?

That is some circular logic, pal.
>>
I use underground tickets

it's comfy and convenient
>>
>>8000437
I was with you until that last reddit tier sentence. Crybaby.
>>
>>8000450
If you could show me where I claimed I was better than anyone I would entertain what you said further.

I simply said that people have things to do, which some person who doesn't read in the same habit as me might not understand.

Im not better for that. For fucks sake I wish I didn't have things to do, my reading and writing practice really take a toll, and even worse, I feel defeated after and I just opt out of the brain work to shitpost instead.
>>
>>8000482
>ablooblooobloo i'm right!

Didn't read
>>

I don't think I will ever understand the motivations and little triggers of people on this board.

So strange sometimes.

It's like unless you call someone you are shit talking a fsg you must be crying about it.
>>
>>8000492

Not surprising.

I wonder why you even chimed in at all if you don't care in the first place

I just use the receipt from the bookstore (or one of the receipts lying around my desk when it's not a bookstore book).

I'm usually more concerned with thinking about the book than memorising numbers.

I used paper tissues, but then I converted to using a half page torn out from my notebook.
It's cheap,and efficent,and I don't form a useless emotional bound.

I use this piece of cartoon I ripped off a cookie packaging. It shows how I live in the moment and I think it's very postmodern.

hell yeah, same. I used to have some terrible big boobed anime custom angel token that was shipped to me with an order of cards once, used that until it was lost in my bedroom somewhere.

I used to just grab the nearest paper-based material (receipts, tissues, bills), but a friend across the planet sent me some bookmarks for my birthday.
Thought I ought to use them out of gratitude. Also, they remind me that someone cares.

Nope.
I just use yugioh cards.

what has this board become

I read chapter to chapter and still use a bookmark. It's just easier.
>>
I found postcards from Dubai or somewhere around there in a book from the library a couple years back. I've been using those since.
