Pic related is my favorite in the last 10 years.
The Neapolitan Novels by Ferrante
The Buried Giant by Ishiguro
Vollman has been getting a lot of praise lately and rightly so.

Shit--pure, unadulterated, unoriginal shit.
Light novels are god tier masterpieces that far surpass any modern western works of literature.

No problem. If you dont mind going a bit further back I enjoyed Silence by Endo and The Remains of the Day as well.

I read all three in a row back in eighth grade:
Hunger Games: Decent book, handles some very mature themes well for middle schoolers, has some flaws on the reread, 7/10 for kids, 5/10 for adults
Catching Fire: Boring, fails to really show us anything that we couldn't figure out before. Second half completely undermines first book. 5/10 for kids, 3/10 for adults
Mockingjay: Terrible, sloppy, confusing, boring, can't figure out what its doing, drags on forever, suspension of belief fails miserably, ending completely unethical and stupid. 1/10 for adults -1/10 for kids,
