I actually did something else. I did visit the dictionary but surprisingly not that much.
What I did have to do though a good few times was have google images open across form me with pictures of deserts, mesa's, mountains, haciendas etc.
In order to paint a more visual picture as sometimes, the amount of deserts, mountains etc. would segue into one another and look the same in my head.
