Holy shit, that's amazing, did they really commission Joan Cornella for a cover?
>>7905095
alright, that's just about enough /lit/ for me I think. have a nice life all of you
>>7905159
It's real, found it on amazon
I've never known penguin to commission cover art though. It might just be some stuff he did for another purpose
posting a comfy-core paperback that I did not enjoy reading
>>7905060
hm...
>>7905203
hey, nice, was just about to post that
>>7905182
In Brazil, the Penguin label is published as a collaboration between local publisher Companhia das Letras (roughly translated Letters Co.) and Penguin Co., I guess the cover comission is something more to the side of Letters Co. as I remember the translator talking about he himself asked Joan to do the artwork. Interesting nonetheless, the traduction is top notch too.
>>7905124
That's fucking nice
>>7905203
Where can I buy this cover?
>>7905223
its the japanese translation
>>7905124
No book has it though.
>>7905223
few places.
It's on sale on amazon from some sketchy weeb shops. If you're in the US, I understand that there's a Japanese bookstore chain called Kinokuniya which has a handful of branches in some major cities.
Retails for around $50~70 and this is only part 1 of 2. The second volume is pic related
I used to have it but I literally left it in Japan. big mistake. long story.
>>7905252
I'm tempted to buy it but I don't know Japan so it's kinda pointless
>>7905206
this is good too. better actually.
>>7905258
>not being willing to teach yourself a new language to experience a nicely-graphicly-designed translation of a novel originally written in your native language
When did /lit/ become so pleb?
>>7905236
Because it isn't a real cover
>>7905058
kek
>>7905095
I liked it. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be on this board. It's pretty short, so it's not like you're wasting time, I read the whole thing in a day.

Holy shit what's up with that company's covers? I thought this was unofficial/fanmade, but seemingly it's not.
I always loved the german No Longer Human cover.

I agree, I quite liked Gatsby. The American education system and "nerdy" white girls have made it a bit of a meme, but it's a finely written and very fun piece of work.
