I'm currently reading White Noise, which I love so far. What do you guys think is his best work, and which of his works should I read next?
You've just read his best.
Libra and Running Dog are the followups.

Underworld is a freakin' masterpiece so long as you love his style. Anything from early on except for Ratner's Star is great. Most of the recent stuff is average, except for Point Omega. That is great.
Thanks for the recs guys.
I've only read White Noise and The Body Artist.
White Noise was brilliant and funny. The Body Artist was a slog despite being just over 100 pages, would not recommend it.
I love his style, it's got a sort of hypnotic, driving rhythm about it. I have no idea how he does it.
I recently read The Names and thought it was pretty good.

I was not very impressed by White Noise, might give Underworld a go later, heard very good things about it.
I've not read any DeLillo before but I'm working through Mao II and really enjoying it, don't hear much about it om this board though
The Body Artist and Cosmopolis
McCarthy
Pynchon
DeLillo
greatest living trio?

Would be, if Pynchon didn't die late last night...
Omega Point. Great atmosphere and a mind-boggling ending.

DeLillo doesn't belong with those others. He is good, but not as good as either Pynchon or McCarthy.
>Inb4 m-m-McCarthy
Definitely read Libra, and if you become a big fan read Americana, which is uneven but great imo.
here's my mini-ranking of the 4 I've read
White Noise > Libra > Falling Man > Mao II
They're all pretty good though, Mao II has some amazing bits and is definitely worth reading even though I rate it the lowest of those. Have a copy of Underworld but haven't cracked it yet.
I love White Noise but it's very different tonally than his other books - more goofy and satirical, less solemn. Libra in a lot of ways is a meditation on the same themes as White Noise but in a much less jokey way.

Nah, it's McCarthy, Pynchon, Wolfe.
Mao II was phenomenal. especially the ending chapter.
underworld > ratner's star > mao II > the names > libra > running dog > great jones street > white noise > americana > point omega > end zone > the body artist > cosmopolis > players > falling man
haven't read his plays or short story collection

Yeah, I rate Mao II as one of his best.

What did you not like about Falling Man? it's next on my Papa Lillo list.
How do you pronounce 'DeLillo'
Is it de-lye-low or de-lil(like little in ghettospeak)-oh?
I dropped white noise like 30 pages in. The prose seemed awkward and a bit hollow. Does it ever get good?
