I have a grammar issue, even though english is my native i still noticed ive been saying something wrong my whole life. tell me which one is right and why:
-every person i have met are mean
-every person i have met is mean
i would think the "is" one is correct because i have been saying things with "is" in that format my whole life. but whenever i see "are" like in a sentence like that it makes me cringe, idk why but it just sounds wrong. are both correct?
