What does /lit/ think about To Kill A Mockingbird?

the first half literally nothing happens, scout just does stuff and observes things
Thoroughly unimportant and too bland to read. Mediocre 20th ct Americans all have that same vaguely wooden and inarticulate style. I mean Jesus, couldn't they play with their language just a little bit?
It was an okay read. I enjoyed parts of it, but nothing to brag about reading.

Since you should now recognize that, for some reason, it's customary on /lit/ to pan TKaM, I'll go ahead and say that I like it a lot. I mean, it's not perfect... the criticism that the two major plot lines don't hold together is valid... but my affection for it more than compensates for its faults.
Plagiarized the plot of Faulkner's "Intruder in the Dust" almost beat-for-beat

But for the childhood stories that were autobiographical, I should think.

All novels are inherently somewhat biographical. I wouldn't mind if she cribbed the plot if only her language was inventive or beautiful. But as it is, Mockingbird is totally inferior to Intruder in the Dust even though Faulkner wrote it when he was a shambling alcoholic wreck in decline
fucking retarded ass book
hur durr dont kill mockingbirds cuz they dont start shit

I do not know why it takes a whole book to explain what I could say in two words: a gun.
