Which edition is best and why?
shut the fuck up sage
>>7872171
The unabridged version from inside DFW's mind.
>>7872179
can't find it on amazon :/
Sage
Vapid trash.

You have to write "sage" in the "Options" field. You've just bumped the thread.

none
>>7872171
Yes.
>>7872171
The 10th anniversary one.
Because I said so.

/lit/ group think at its best.
>>7872171
I have this version and it has end notes instead of foot notes. Is there any version that has foot notes instead of end notes? So I don't have to back and forth everytime
>>7872595
DFW chose endnotes on purpose so I can't imagine there's a edition with footnotes
>>7872595
But I've read Consider the Lobster and it had foot notes instead of end notes
>>7872179
It seems like just a matter of time before they release the original draft with 400-500 more pages. I'd love to get my hands on it.
>>7872698
I thought so, was a little confused at first though.
Consider the Lobster is a collection of his essays, so I imagine flicking from back to front would be annoying, but he chose to do it on IJ to try and break up the experience of reading it every now and then
>>7872667
Well how do you manage 30 page story-sized digressions with footnotes? It's really not that hard to flip.
>>7872747
Oh ok.
Are some of the end notes in Infinite Jest longer than a page?
Because most of the foot notes in Consider the Lobster are pretty short and are mostly used to make some jokes, except once where the foot note was like 3 pages long (But he referred to the length of the footnote and jokingly asked it if it shouldn't just be a part of the essay instead of a footnote)
Because if the end notes are pretty long, then it would probably be more convenient to have them as end notes instead of foot notes.

I think this is excactly what I was asking about... So are some of the end notes 30 pages long?
The 20th anniversary ed obv... It corrects typos and printing errors
>>7872788
I don't recall any going nearly that long, but some are several pages, and sort of a drag in smaller type.
>>7872952
>lol so many post-its required XD
banal trash
OP's image. the one that's book-size. the others are Harry Potter-size
>>7872982
I think it could kinda relate to the passage late in the book where Hal is being super edgy and mumbling about how people are just Fourier series (the reproduction of a waveform as an infinite sum of sinusoids), were the postit notes form a sort of F.S. to recreate the elder meme cover.
Something other than postit notes may have made it look less banal, however.
>>7872171
This is the most boring piece of shit I've ever tried slogging through.
>>7872171
Is Infinite Jest the Evengelion of /lit/?
>>7872788
I believe the movie list is longer than a page, not sure if any other notes are. There are no 30 page foot notes in the index.
