>TL;DR need some stoic books to help me study
/lit/ I need some books on stoicism or by stoics to help me revise. I guess I'm generally a stoic but if I'm in stoic hyperdrive I revise and read much better. ive been shifting away from it procrastinating and whatnot so I need to get pumped up by some stoics to increase my virtue towards academia. otherwise I end up masturbating and playing video games and end up only reading or studying for about 2 hours rather than more.
help me be like Pliny the elder
pls
Arria by Pliny the younger
Obviously Meditations. This should be like the Bible for Stoics, read a couple of pages every day.
Cringiest post of the year
Haha, he's from the past, but he's wearing sunglasses, which were invented not when he was alive, but are from our era. Ha

Try reading "Nietzsche's Therapy: Self-cultivation in the Middle Works"

But Meditations is very, very inferior to the Enchiridion. And longer, while not being as good.

I started reading it to continue my stoic learning. In the end, it ended up being a sobering window into Roman life. It makes me feel like human society and troubles haven't evolved in any meaningful way in over a thousand years. I'm still solving my problems like Marcus.
letters from a stoic - seneca
the enchiridion - epictetus
