What are some good writings about friendship, its nature, maybe some portrayals of what good friends are like? Interested because I don't think I've ever had those; I don't even know what friends are, really.

He writes very nicely about likeable people doing fun shit, and camaraderie in the face of a shitty world most prominently in V., Inherent Vice, Bleeding Edge, to a lesser extent Gravity's Rainbow. Lot 49 is lonelier but still has a bit of it. Haven't read the rest.
