I'm still triggered.
Snow Crash is the worst book I've read in my adult life.
That book could only appeal to people who have said "Deadpool was actually a pretty good film," and people who have a "meta-sarcastic" sense of humor.
That book put me off the cyber-punk sub-genre permanently. It's a shame because I enjoyed Neuromancer and planned on checking out more of it.
Fuck Stephenson, fuck his whole Neil Gaiman/ Douglas Adams tier.
Garbage for all-growed-up 15-year-olds in 2003.
I bet you listen to Papa Roach and the other "real classics of that era".

I read the diamond age, thought it was total dog shit. cannot be bothered to try this author again.

It's a literature board, and I'm not "totally post-ironic", so I care enough to warn other people.
I bet you've said "Patrick Rothfuss is a great world-builder."
The Wind-Up Girl.

But you didn't read the blurb! It said he's literary now! Wow!
>>7830769
This, the only book I read from him and I really didn't enjoy it at all. It's put me off reading Snow Crash

I tried reading this book several times and couldn't get very far into it. When I'm done reading Neuromancer I'll give it another go though.
>>7830922
why? couldn't handle all the kick ass balls to the walls in yo face action?
>>7830930
Not sure desu, I liked his world building, and the characters seemed interesting. I think I was distracted by vidya at the time. Although these days I'm trying to play less vidya and read/write more.
