My life is sort of like what I picture a writers to be. I sit in coffee shops, and push out pages of proposals and research. Pretty cool, could probably do it forever.

>Serve your masters or become homeless and destitute

That's the choice most people get. Until we get reliably post scarcity we're just fighting for more comfortable forms of slavery. Not even a commie, but to consider the lives of the commoners anything but a constant struggle to keep themselves out of poverty at any point throughout human history is to buy into an obscenely optimistic view of society.
>>
>>7819005
just be a commie faggot

capitalism is destroying our economy and environment and capitalists will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes
>>
>>7819005

Also I'm currently getting paid $20 per 1000 words of harcore pokemon porn.
>>
>>7819005
>working under someone supervision is serving a master

What the hell?
>>
I am commissioned via email by an unidentified man, presumed to be in his 40s, who pays me $20 to write him absurd erotic short stories every day.
>>
>>7819011

Capitalism's biggest fault involves how easily the government raises its tail toward those with both the drive and means to truly control things. Communism falls prey to the same faults faster. I'll only even begin to entertain the notion when we can put unyielding computers in charge of things, humanities best hope is a world leader who is hard coded to get off on raising living standards across the board.
>>
>>7819011
lmao what revolution? Unless we experience WWIII, there will be no revolution in developed Western nations. Westerners are very comfortable with capitalism and have carefully observed would-be socialists fail virtually every single time they attempted to achieve their utopia. Leftist revolutions are for poor and uneducated countries
>>
>>7819021

The only dynamic is the one of master and slave. It isn't just true of job titles, but in every word or thought. The one you occupy may shift all throughout the day, but the lower classes undoubtedly spend most of their lives as slaves to others.
>>
>>7819027

>raises its tail
>>
>>7819025

how did you find him / land this gig?
>>
>>7819044
It's ridiculous and eroding the whole “slave” and “master” meaning. You are a slave if you're lacking freedom and forced to compel, which isn't true. People chose to work. People decide to spend five years in college then enrolling in some trainee program. Calling them “slaves” is a convenient way so nobody has to assume his responsabilities. Working isn't even a painful, unique choice as long as you haven't fucked up your entire youth.
>>
>>7819025

the man is ur dad
>>
I've made like $25.00 self-pubbing something I actually wanted to write, and then maybe another $20.00 when I tried my hand at selling out and writing erotica.
>>
>>7819064

The key is coercion. Be it through whip or the threat of poverty this system, or any system for that matter, mandates submission. It's just a higher form of slavery, but its still slavery.
>>
>>7819095
guess what u god damn edgy teen if there was no "system" u would steal be a slave to having to eat, holy shit, whether the whip or starving to death, life requires submission! life = slavery! i'm sooooo fucking edgy!!!!111one
>>
>>7819109

I'm not saying slavery a bad thing, simply that it is. And yes, we are all slaves to our biology obviously. In the comment you replied to I even implied that every system demands submission of a sort. It is the way of things.
>>
>>7819140
the people who are born to be masters will always rise and those born to be slaves won't, i don't see this as any kind of injustice, it's like saying some fags are bottoms and some are tops,so we need a revolution to make all faggots tops!
>>
>>7819027
>implying that it wouldn't just become an arms race to control the computers
>not realising this is already happening in Wall St. and global finance with automated computer trading and decision systems controlling it all
>thinking giving absolute power to anything man made won't lead to catastrophic consequences
>falling for the science is not evil meme when it clearly is fucking brutally and inhumanely evil and has always needed an equally powerful religion to keep it in check
>waking up and seeing a polluted overpopulated shit-hole with biodiversity diminished, habitats destroyed, ecosystems trashed and life on the planet dying
>being born just in time to die to a great disease that will wipe the species from 8billion to 8million
>>
>>7819152

I don't understand where you're getting this idea that I'm pushing for some revolution. Revolutions just set up a new group of masters, or more commonly make a less powerful group of masters more powerful while removing a few masters from the equation. If anything the world should keep doing what its doing, increase the comfort in becoming a slave. Barring some perfectly fixable oversights we've on a pretty good track for the last 40 to 50 years as far as comfort across the board goes.

>>7819155

You do realize that big ball of gas is going to eventually swallow this planet right? Biodiversity as a plus is a goofy meme, species live or die. If the planet can't take it and we can't take the planet then we both get what we deserve. The important thing is that no matter what happens I'm right, because my mindset aligns comfortably with all possible outcomes while your's has a win loss state built right into its line of thinking.

As for a race to control the computers, of course it would be. They don't have to be perfect, just better than politicians. That's certainly doable.
>>
>>7819219
>increase the comfort in being a slave

slaves are always going to be resentful, if they stopped being resentful they would have to take responsibility for themselves, and if they did that they would be masters
>>
>>7815600
not when it would require divine intervention for him to get his cock up
>>
>>7819251

Yes.
>>
>>7816672
I'm guessing Colby O'Donis
>>
>>7819251
The majority aren't resentful though, because they don't even realise they are slaves

It's a bit of a grind. So first you want to take a class at a local community college; a lot of universities offer courses on grant writing as well. I didn't do this because I like to read. I devoured right around 10 books on grant writing, and then I volunteered my time for a year, on top of my real job.

In that year, I was able to raise right around 50k for the organization I was working for. Then I put that on my resume, and started applying to low-level grant writing things, and freelance grant writing work... The idea was to get a large number under the " awarded amounts" section of my resume.

In 2015 I scored a 50,000 dollar grant for a local high school to do some expansion. Then with that I read a lot about grant writing in the medical field, and took a course at a community college that didn't teach me anything. I started applying to medical research grant writing positions, offering to work for free.. I got ONE grant for a top 10 university to fund their research on a very rare diseases.

They hired me and pay me right around 65 thousand dollars, and I am expected to bring in a few million dollars of money every year. I work from home, and have deadlines for certain big grants that are up for reapplications (these are easy because they have already been written).

So I guess I would start by offering grant writing services for animal shelters and such, for free. It does not take very long.

The work itself is not hard, I get a lot of long-form essays, and normal essays published in certain literary online magazines (nothing good). What I am saying, is it is a lot of writing, probably around 1.5-2k words a day. A lot of reading (research), which is only because I am not someone who knows the medical field, and I have to be able to write a lot of about medical diseases from a scientific point of view. From the outside though--and to my friends and family.. I just sit in coffee shops all day long, and do some traveling here and there.

I can answer some more questions, pls no doxxing.

Yes; I consider it writing.

Slavery is forced work against your will, a job isn't. Also unless you break the laws of thermodynamics (wink wink you can't) post-scarcity is impossible.
>>
>>7819011
Said every commie ever until they themselves were put up against the wall by their precious proles.
Anyway, capitalism has been one of the greatest systems devised by man. Giving rise to meteoritic rise in the standard of living and technology. While the alternative has been nothing but ruin.
>>
>>7819794
Coming from you, thats ironic.
>>
>>7820063
I wanted to be a writer and get paid. I probably put in 10 hours a week into work, because it is so simple. Then I spend the rest of the time trying to get my essays published.
