>tfw i just found out this lad solved philosophy even before socrates
Starting with the Greeks wasn't a meme.

Of course mang.
Heraclitus figured it out, Parmenides expanded on that, and everyone else has just been trying to explain to others why Parmigiano was right and everyone else's thinking is wrong.
My biggest revelation when I Started With The Greeks was that nothing was new (I was young).
I thought my age was unique because of reasons x, y, and z. Then I learned it wasn't.
And then I learned not to talk so much about things I didn't know.

I wonder if it was new when they wrote it down though. Someone must have started it.

Yes, you get Heraclitus and Parmenides for the real philosophy and then you get the sophists who had the arbitrary game of the rest figured out and you're golden.
There was really no need for Socrates and friends to ever come along, if anything they started a few thousand year long detour.
>>7813153
What exactly are you referring to when you say he solved philosophy?
>>7813153
Could I get a summary, because I'm actually sick of Platonic vs. Aristotelian metaphysics. I'm starting to think it is all just lofty bullshit

Studying Nietzsche led me to the sophists and Heraclitus, it actually really pissed me off because pretty much every mention of philosophy in my formal education has basically included them as a footnote and heavily implied that Plato banished them from history and as such was correct. Even in college the intro level philosophy classes I took professors just casually mocked the sophists as if there is some cultural understanding that they were in the wrong and Plato is great.

Plato is a meme, Parmenides basically believed that humans only have perception and not truth. He believed that the world was essentially eternal and unchanging, and that what we saw as change was only, again, our perception.
Read him though, he only has one surviving work and it's not that long.

Gold star.

Nah m8, white sphere

Those are the Nubian pyramids which were built by blacks, obviously. Not Western Africans (also obvious), but the point still stands.
Just a fun fact.

The approach to Socrates and his heirs as the downfall of Greek thought in Twilight of the Idols is great.
