A Month in Sweden: A Day By Day of Islam and Multiculturalism
Start with the Qu-ran
The Dwarf by Pär Lagerqvist is great. August Strindberg is great, too.

Forgot to add Per Anders Fogelström and his series about Stockholm. I've yet to read the last one, but it's been wonderful so far, particularly the first one. Pic related.

Hjalmar Söderberg and Pär Lagerkvist are probably the two greatest Swedish authors imo.
Check out Frans G. Bengtssons Röde Orm (The Long Ships) as well.
Anything by Gustav Jorgenson.
Hjalmar Söderberg, in particular Martin Birck's Youth. It's half autobiographical, half fictional and it's one of the comfiest novel I've ever read.
Also Fritiof Nilsson "The Pirate" - Bombi Bitt and Me which I found hilarious. Although I doubt there's a translation, due to the frequent use of Scanian phraseology.

I have Barn av sin stad on my bookshelf. Should I get Mina drömmars stad before reading it or could it be read on its own?

Tack för rådet familj
Strindberg's Inferno, should be perfect for anyone on 4chan.
Stagnelius' poetry, not sure how much is translated though.
Stig Larsson's The Autists (no, really) was the work that introduced pomo to the Swedish audience. I didn't like it, but couldn't stop reading it.
Since /lit/ is Catholic, I'd also recommend the writings of Queen Kristina.

Is there a translation that's not shit?
I don't think I ever want to learn Swedish

It's pretty funny how I never really heard the leftist hate class here give Strindberg any shit, despite showing great respect for books as extreme as Sex and Character and Theozoology. I really should read him.
