There is a limit to reduction because if the self is the only thing that is real then there is nothing else real to write about including non-realness of other things not that they are unreliable but that they are unreal. negation of real rather than the aspects of seemingly real. Real itself exists in a non-self way because what we attribute to realness are mostly non-self. And if the only real is the self then the need to differentiate realness becomes pointless.

It can de debated, whether reality exists outside of the self : you only perceive reality through your senses ! So reality is essentially your perception of reality...
For the rest I send you back to Descartes' demonstration which of course I agree has its limits but he makes his point that all knowledge/ perception of the world starts with the self whose existence is the first certified truth...Because you can deny the reality of everything the only thing you can't deny is that you are thinking because if you're denying it you're still thinking of denying it. Then for thinking to occurs there must be a thinking subject : the self.
