I cant explain it, but after reading so many books I feel more perceptive, like I can see ideas and patterns of reality in a higher resolution

It also enhances your creativity, each well written sentence is sort of like a problem solved with the authors creative ability and just seeing what words the author has used for some purpose opens new avenues of thought with regard to how language is used, you start to think of more descriptive ways in which to express an idea instead of the most basic adjectives
