What languages are best to learn for literature? Mostly for poetry, thinking about French or Russian. I'm not really interested in learning ancient Greek or Latin right now.

I thought about German too, I learnt a bit in school but I mostly remember that grammar was hard. The vocabulary was much easier, and I like the sound of it. But I also like the sound of Russian, plus then I'd be able to read Maякoвcкий and many of my favourite novels.
Now I realised that I don't really know any Russian poets other than Пyшкин and Maякoвcкий, what else should I try?
French, Russian and Spanish for newer stuff
Latin, Greek and Italian for older stuff
Don't learn German, it will dissappear soon anyway
