Why isn't gooder a word?
Because we don't speak Newspeak.

Gooder is gooder compared to words like greater and better. Please start using gooder so it can catch on.

>Why isn't Nigger a word?

I dont know, but in latin there is a similar difference between good and its comparative form which most other adjectives dont share as well (i.e. good = bonus, better = melior).

>Why isn't Nigger a word?
Why isn't YOU'REAFUCKINGFAGGOT a word?

I bet you it had something to do with some white cracka trying to get fancy to all the slaves by making certain words prohibited..
Not sure why but the comparative of "good" has been "better" in every Germanic language from the very start
>>7794952
that isn't newspeak, doublegood would be a replacement for gooder.

Also, before anyone asks why we have "better" and "best" but no "bett"

>There are no descendants of the base adjective itself, and it is not certain whether it was still in use in Proto-Germanic. However, it remained in use as a base for word derivation, and its comparative and superlative forms survive until the present day.
hey /lit/, let's play a crossover game.
post an author with a picture of a character from a film or tv show that you think describes them.
I'll start: William S. Burroughs Jr.

Language is inherently messed up, there's no use trying to change it in such ways as that to make more sense of it

What determines what is and what is not a word? If the individual conceives it as a word no one can truly say he is wrong. Most people quote the dictionary as a standard, undoubtedly the men who painstakingly compiled the works were brilliant and well red, but no one can stop me from not recognizing it's legitimacy. I realize they include copious amounts of proof toward origin and use. But no one can stop me from denying it and creating my own slum hood rat English. And really the only thing stopping me from legitimacy is public recognition.
