Add and edit books (whenever you want).
It's necessary for true patricians who read obscure books.

Your 3 stars to The Dwarf was questionable m8. I found it very funny.
>tfw they removed the ability to search for literary qts and sort them by distance to your location.
>tfw they could have had a /lit/ dating service

Should I bother organizing shelves?
>>7797704
people like y'all are fucking up the rating system and it's triggering me. it's possible to adjust for plebs under- or overrating a book but not some people using an entirely different rating system. rating masterpieces three stars because you didn't have a transcendental experience reading them on a particular occasion or because it doesn't speak to you on whatever personal level is bullshit.
>>7797724
I don't think it's essential, but I appreciate being able to use shelf cloud.

Everyone rates their own way. Like I rate based on if I'd recommend it. 1-2 for variations of not recommended, 3-4 for light/strong recommendation, and 5 for whatever subjective thing I really like. Cuts out the bullshit of scoring it like a quiz grade. And it cuts out the arguments of "but why is x this score but y isn't" and it circumvents the temptation to judge a book in relation to other books by the same author. And in the end it's just an arbitrary score for fun.
If you a real nigga you write reviews.

>how the hell you find time for reading and listening to music
he's a well-known fake rater on /mu/. he rates shit he hasn't read and listened
>>7797851
I only rate for my own use, not for the good of the community.
I need some way to record the fact that The Odyssey isn't as good as The Iliad so I give it four instead of five stars. This doesn't mean I think it's objectively worse than some juicy bit of pulp I rated five stars.
>>7798766
So what is the point of asking this same question in every thread?
>>7798766

>1. If you have any books by Young Adult authors, we're not going to get along. If you have more than one, reconsider what you're doing with your life.
