In 10 days, I'll be in Mexico on vacation for a week. I plan to spend my time drinking on the beach and reading. What are some great books to occupy myself with? Something that's entertaining but somehow ties in nicely with that overall feeling of going new places and getting into misadventures.

I'm also going on vacation very soon, but I'll be going to the Gold Coast in Queensland.
Are there any good book recommendations for me to read while I sit on the balcony at about a couple dozen stories high for a few hours?
You sound like a disgusting human being. The idea of lying on a beach becoming intoxicated while thinking you are at all capable of appreciating a work of literature is repulsive. I hope a tornada forces you to spend your week in your hotel room.
