BMW, 1984, and Fahrenheit 451 are God Tier distopian novels. Anyone who says otherwise is a retard.

That's why they sell it with the essay "return to the brave new world".

So you too can "get it".

>>7784719
1984 is a better novel than Brand New World, which isn't that hard. But I always reach for BNW over 1984 - it has turned out to be the more prophetic.

>doesn't innately comprehend that which transcends the meaning/unmeaning dichotomy
my poor friend, i pity you. it is self-evident.
>>
>>7790057
I just didn't get it. Too much implication and not enough clearly spelled out. I mean the author implies that the meaning is meaningless because we've become so detached from meaning. It's brilliant, don't get me wrong, it's just so weird the way he/she makes us try to figure it out on our own.

But if that makes me a pleb because I can't understand something on my own, then it does definitely and I need more training.

How do I learn how to comprehend this shit anyhow? Who should I read? Where should I start?

>>7790044

A Thousand Splendid Suns is pretty fucking bad, especially with how Rasheed was written, Khaled has no idea how abusive relationships work, or how relations between men and women work
>>
>>7783203
Actually, the only reason I liked this book was because I read it in high school, and it made me feel edgy and superior.

Now it's just meh. It's alright, I guess. It's kind of bitchy about hedonism, though. If you don't want to be a hedonist, don't be. Plenty of people out there aren't like that.

Literally the worst thing I've ever read. I'm usually a lefty cunt who'll side with the PC brigade on anything but on this I'm convinced all the critical acclaim come from either the fact that she's a young black woman or that the critic wants to fuck her(in most cases a combination of the two).
