I'm a pretty big Lovecraft fan (inb4 pleb) and I was looking for something that would look good on a bookshelf. I've already read all of his work, so comprehensiveness isn't the biggest issue. What's the best collection?

the Gollancz Necronomicon you can pick up on Amazon is both comprehensive and good looking.

How can anyone enjoy Lovecraft? Serious question, I'd love to like his work but whenever I start reading something, the terrible prose ruins it for me. Also, his stories aren't scary, in my opinion.
As strange as this question might sound, how do I into Lovecraft?

Tbh I just started when I was a freshman in high school. The fact that I was young tempered the bad prose and then I grew to like him because I "grew up" with his stories. I still think he's good though, not because it's scary, but because the monsters and the suggestion of unknowable horror are neat to me.

His lows are low, but his high points are kind of interesting. I liked color out of space in particular. He moves beyond LOLZOMBIES that have become so fucking dominant in horror.
His lyrical style is jarring which is actually fitting for his setting, he regularly uses words that were antiquated even in his time, words that tickle the back of the conscious saying "I should know what this word means but I do not" just like his monsters, I should know what this is but I cannot.
For all of his sins against style his work breaks the mold which is more than you can say for 99% of horror writers. He makes people like King look like hacks (not that it takes much).

>she actually uses twine to make fucking games
>"""people""" in the """media""" take her seriously as a game developer
I still can't get over this, it's hilarious. I've actually played twine porn games 100 times more complex than anything she's made.

This. It's a Barne's and Nobles exclusive with this really cool silver lining on the edge of each page giving it a really cool shine. I picked it up last month for $20 and includes a small background for most of the stories.

The terrible prose thing is a meme. Congrats on being so shallow that you think memes are your own original ideas, memeboy.
