A few years ago, I read a book of short stories by Ilf and Petrov. There were satirical stories about the life in the early times of the Soviet Union, yet it was not anti-communist propaganda, instead a generally entertaining read.

Russian literature and kino is some of the highest quality stuff out there. We have some of the best composers, some of the best orchestras, some of the best directors, (bordering between ukranian directors) and some of the best literature. I'm pretty proud of that.
