Pseudo-intellectuals are like vegans, they will always try to let you know they're smart, and it's usually see-through. Big thesaurus words, quoting the most semi-obscure stuff they could find.
I think if someone is really an intellectual he wouldn't let you know unless the situation called for it or something.
Also, most liberals are pseudo-intellectual, but not always.
