Halfway through vol 2 right now, just before he goes to Balbec and meets Albertine. I'm trying to pace myself, but I wholly expect to join the circle of Proustophiles when I finish it.

Boy, you are memein' way too hard. Each one of those books is one that should have your full attention.

Not "best", but what would you say is the "comfiest" Murakami? I like something soft every now and again to unwind, and the two of his that I've read (Colorless Tsukuru and Norwegian Wood) really did the trick.
>>7711800
i haven't read all of his stuff yet but other than norwegian wood, hard-boiled wonderland was pretty comfy. i read 1Q84 in my early teens so it must've been pretty soft but at 1k pages it's not really a quick read to unwind if you're looking for smaller-average length books.

I'm taking them real slow.

Hit me up senpai.

ive heard 1Q84 is one of his worst, you said that didnt matter though. I'll chime in with Wind Up Bird being both comfy and easy, and its only 600 or so pages. And its probably one of his best.

Currently reading The Crying of Lot 49, plan on finishing it this weekend. Reading it pretty slowly because it's Pynchon and I try and take my time with that chap, just in case if I miss anything. I'm sure I am missing things that I'm unlikely to pick up on my first read still.
I plan on reading Confederacy of Dunces or maybe Portrait next. What do you guys think? Which did you prefer?
